CDB Lacquer: Vivid Vixen Collection Part 2

Hi guys! Have you ever had one of those days where all you want to do is eat? Yeah I'm having a week like that. Nothing I eat seems to satisfy the endless pit that is my belly, haha. I'm a bit on the happier side today though because I just realized that I have Monday off from work. Who loves days off? Rose loves days off! Let's celebrate by showing off some pretty polishes, shall we? Today I have the 2nd half of the Vivid Vixen Collection by CDB Lacquer releasing tomorrow Friday June 27th.

You can see swatches and the review for the first half of this collection here. Fair warning, this is a photo heavy post.

Fierce

Fierce is a striking hot pink jelly with a scattered holo finish. Do a little turn on the cat walk, yeah yeah, on the cat walk. Come on you can't blame me, this polish is as fierce as its namesake suggests. I love the intensity of the shade, one of my favorite pinks this summer. Another nice factor about this polish is the fact that it doesn't stain whatsoever. Swatched over a clear base coat, used three thin coats, and sealed with a fast-drying topcoat. You'll find this polish to be sheer in a single layer and full opacity in three coats. Make sure you add a topcoat to smooth out the multiple layers and give it a beautiful shine.

Independent

Independent is a green jelly with a scattered holo finish. To be honest, I wasn't expecting this to look so light and soft. Not a bad thing. It's a really nice change from the stereotypical loud summer green. I can see myself wearing this shade no matter the season, so that's always a plus. Swatched over a clear base coat, used three thin coats, and sealed with a fast drying topcoat. Sheer in a single coat and close to full opacity achieved by the third. Formula was excellent and the application gave me no trouble. You do have to be a little mindful of your strokes for the third layer, however, a topcoat will definitely help smooth over that.

Radiant

Radiant is a bright and sunny yellow jelly with a scattered holo finish. The namesake suits this beauty very well, that yellow really does radiant off your nails. I wish the color yellow in general wouldn't contrast so harshly against my skintone so I could appreciate this beauty like it deserves. I feel like I just told a nail polish the classic, "It's Not You, It's Me" haha. Swatched over a clear base coat, used four-five thin coats, and sealed with a topcoat. Like some of the ones from the other post, I found this one to be extremely sheer after three coats. For these swatches, I used four-five coats for a fuller opacity look. The formula itself didn't give me any trouble layering and there was no clumping.

Seductive

Seductive is a sexy berry red jelly with a scattered holo finish. I don't know why but I felt like Jessica Rabbit while wearing this polish. In other words, I felt oh-so sexy haha. I really like the fact that's not not a straight red and prefer the creative thought behind the shade. One of my favorites from the whole collection. Swatched over a clear base coat, used three thin coats, and sealed with a fast drying topcoat. This polish is not as sheer as some of the other ones and you'll only need three thin coats for full opacity.

Overall I'm really satisfied with the look and feel of the Vivid Vixen Collection by CDB Lacquer. I really love Cheyenne's creativity when it comes to the names. Super cute. I personally haven't really seen another collection quite like this so it was all-in-all a pleasant experience. Formula consistency throughout the collection was a little off for two or three of them. As I mentioned on the other half of the review, when I voiced my concerns over how sheer some of the shades were Cheyenne made a change to the formula. The batches made for release will differ a bit from the ones in my review and you shouldn't need any more than three layers for a full opaque look.

The Vivid Vixen Collection will be available for purchase tomorrow June 27th at 10am Eastern Time. There will be both full and mini bottles for purchase, as well as, a few full collection sets. If mini sizes are the ones that interest you the most, then be sure to follow CDB Lacquer because minis will be limited in stock.
