Hiya guys! Doesn't this week feel like it's dragging by? It must be because I'm looking forward to my birthday at the end of the month (and also a couple of days off from work). Here's hoping I receive some new pretty polishes from my friends and hubs. I've I'm super excited about today's post. It's been the highlight of my week so far. My nail bestie Cheyenne (@cdbnails143) picked me to be her partner in crime for the Heroes vs Villains (#DisneyTagTeamMani) Challenge on Instagram. The weekly challenge created by @hannah_nails_it and @jessnailedit is to have a partner and create a hero/villain combo. Simple, right?
For this first week, Cheyenne and I decided to go with my favorite Disney movie of all time The Little Mermaid. Here's my mani of the beautiful mermaid I grew up loving:
Don't judge me too harshly, haha. I'm so proud of myself and I know Cheyenne couldn't be more ecstatic for doing this. I've been going through quite a bit of a rut with my nail art the past few weeks. It's honestly gotten to the point of me questioning whether or not I should even attempt art. I couldn't have asked for a better friend and sister, Cheyenne has pushed me through my own self-doubt and is giving me confidence to just keep trying. Alright this is getting way too mushy people. Let's see some more photos!
Here's some photos I snapped (not under my light box) of "the process". This mani took me a little over two hours to complete.
I believe this is the first time I attempt a full on art mani quite like this one. I know some might think this is still pretty bad but I have never drawn anything this intense haha. The background was done with polishes from Maybelline's Bleached Neon Collection (that I still have to swatch one day). All the art was done using various acrylic paints and sealed with a topcoat.
This mani has single-handedly brought back my spark for nail art. Now I cannot wait for next week and our next set of Heroes vs Villains manis. Before I forget, here's our duo-shot!
What Heroes vs Villains combo would you like to see next?
