Fall-ing for Nail Art Challenge: Fall Leaves

Hi guys. Thank you for all the love and support during my last post when I mentioned that my dog was ill. Unfortunately he passed away last night in our home surrounded by those who loved him. He was 13 year old and the first dog I ever owned. It's a hard time for me and I appreciate all the kind words you've been leaving on social media for me, trust me I've read every comment. Even though all I want to do is crawl in bed and continue to cry my eyes out, it's not what he would of wanted. He hated to see me cry and would climb on my lap and lick my tears away. For the next few days, I will continue posting as normal because otherwise I feel I'll go crazy with the grief.

Last night I couldn't sleep so I did the one thing I know will always relax me, nail art. These are for the November edition of the Challenge Your Nail Art Facebook group prompt 'Fall Leaves'. I hope you guys like my strange looking leaves.

Fall Leaves Nailart

It was definitely very difficult to sit still and try to do these with everything that has been going on. All last night I tried to think of a million things to do to take my mind off of things and it wasn't until I can barely think about much of anything as I'm sure you can imagine. All things considered I don't hate how these came out, but I'm not head over heals in love either. Drawing leaves was actually more difficult than I first thought they would be. I wish I would of had a stamping plate to make things a bit easier, haha.

Polishes used are both from Jior Couture's Simply Fall Collection, Forest Allure and Up and Autumn. I have swatched and reviewed these polishes late last month so it was nice to get to use them again for some nail art. The leaves are freestyled using acrylic paint and a small detail brush. Like I said before, I don't hate them but I definitely think they could of turned out better. 9

I really wanted to include a photo of my Chino for you guys. It's definitely nice having so many photos and videos of him to watch whenever I feel down. Right now though it's hard to sit and see, but I know I have a ton of things to keep his memory alive. And I have two other little pups to mourn his lack of presence with as well. Rest in Peace Chino.

Thank you again for all the support during this difficult time.

And, in closing, here's the other ladies participating in today's challenge, be sure to pay them a visit as well.

  3. First off, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it's absolutely raw and achy to lose a furry family member - I lost my 12 yr old buddy at the end of the summer. Maybe Chico and Chibi are playing together now in a place where they don't have any pain or sadness!

Secondly, this nail art is gorgeous. I love the colors in the gradient base so much, and the leaves are adorable. Great work!

    1. Thank you for sharing that, I really hope they are off in doggie heaven together. It's going to be really hard on me for the next two months, he was a Christmas present so I always associated the holiday with him. I always thought it was his fave time of year.

  5. Oh, I'm so sorry about your dog. :( It's always so hard when a pet passes away and I'm sending you hugs from afar!

    1. This is the first time I have ever had to deal with something like this and it's taking its toll on me. It feels he was gone way too soon but at least I thank goodness he went at home surrounded by his family. Thank you so much for your kind words, they really mean a lot to me. Everyone has been so very kind, I'm overwhelmed.
