Bellaluna Cosmetics Winter Collection

Hiya guys! Ever feel like everything that could go wrong around you is suddenly happening? Yeah, that's the kind of day I'm having. Someone send SuperMan to my rescue. Actually on second thought, someone fetch me a SuperGirl costume. Except we'll have to change the 'S' to a 'P'... cause you know I'll be PolishGirl instead. Yeah, that was lame but I bet it made you chuckle. That's me though, when things get rough bring on the laughs... and the polish. Speaking of which, let's get to the first swatches of 2015. Say hello to Bellaluna Cosmetics and two of her polishes from the Winter Collection.

The Winter 2014 Collection by Bellaluna Cosmetics is available for purchase. Limited supply available for these polishes and once they are sold out, they will not be restocked.

Sugar Plum Fairy
Bellaluna Cosmetics - Sugar Plum Fairy

Sugar Plum Fairy can be described as a rich violet jelly polish laced with the perfect shimmer finish. Definitely my favorite of the entire collection, this purple compliments my skin tone so well. Sugar Plum Fairy was Bellaluna Cosmetics best-selling polish this season, in fact there are only less than a handful left in stock. I didn't have one quite like this in my collection, I'm totally thrilled to have it. The shade is great all-year round, so you don't have to worry about it going out with the winter season. Formula and consistency were fantastic, not too thin nor too thick. The layers build up quite nicely and evenly, which is a huge plus in my book. For these swatches, I was easily able to layer two - three coats and seal it off with a topcoat.

Peppermint Stick
Bellaluna Cosmetics - Peppermint Stick

Peppermint Stick is a white crelly polish filled with green and red micro glitters. For those of you who don't know, I'm the biggest sucker for white crelly polishes. As you can see, the base looks more of an off-white than a bright white. I think I prefer it like this, as it stands out against other similar ones this season. Speaking of which, this particular one is a little more seasonal bound with it's colors. Personally, I'll find ways to use it year-round, but I know some people put their holiday polishes away for the year. The formula was a lot smoother than I expected it to be. The glitters don't over-clutter or clump up while you apply each layer. For these swatches, I used two thin coats and sealed them off with a glossy topcoat.

Overall I'm really impressed with the quality of the formula of Bellaluna Cosmetics. Being fairly new to the indie market, I wasn't expecting for her polishes to layer as smoothly as they did. Normally I have problems with glitter clumping with polishes like Peppermint Stick, but this wasn't the case here. The only bit of negativity I can think of, is that the shades might be something you already have in your collection. Either way, these two make me anxious and excited to try future collections from this maker. Be sure to check these out in Bellaluna Cosmetics's shop if you're interested, like I said earlier, once sold out these will not be restocked.
