The Nail Art Guild - Retro

Hiya guys, how's it going? I cannot believe my vacation is over and it's back to work on Monday. Definitely not looking forward to it. I'll be like a little kid clinging to the covers when my husband tries to wake me up. But I shouldn't think about that now or else it will ruin my whole weekend, right? Right! Instead I'll look forward to the trip I'll be taking to Hobby Lobby for planner supplies, oh yes my other crazy obsession. Before I get too sidetracked I should tell you about today's nail art! It's time for the first 2015 nail prompt from The Nail Art Guild and it's 'Retro'. I was insanely excited about this prompt for weeks. Here's the mani I created:

Retro Roses

This design was inspired by the talented Alaina from The Little Canvas. It's been stuck in my mind for over a year and when this prompt came up I immediately thought of it again. I'm really excited about my recreation, what do you guys think?

Retro Roses

Here's the materials used to create this look:
  • Polishes: Base - Zoya's Jacqueline, Dots - Sally Hansen's Black Out
  • Dotting Tool and Detail Brush
  • Acrylic Paint: Lilac and Jade from American Crafts
  • Big Shine Topcoat by Sally Hansen
Retro Roses

The design was really simple to do and took me no longer than a half hour. The original design was done completely in nail polish, but since I'm more comfortable with acrylic I used that instead. And I finally got to use my new brush from Winstonia. Anyway, I don't have the right equipment for a tutorial at the moment, once I do I'll make a video for you guys.

Hope you guys like today's design. Don't forget to check out the other ladies in today's prompt by searching the hashtag #TNAGretro or #thenailartguild on Instagram. And if you're not following The Little Canvas then head on over, you won't be disappointed.

Have a great weekend everyone!
