Hiya guys! I have about five days left before the day I am dreading and stressful about. Doing my best not to think about it, but we all know how that is. So I'm keeping myself busy participating in as many things as I can and swatching my nights away. Nail girl logic, haha. Now for today's post I have a heck of a throwback! It's time to show you guys my first ever indie polish... from three years ago!
This is Gumball by the former Lush Lacquer. I believe it was two years ago at this point, but Lush Lacquer had a name change to Polish Me Silly. I'm sure that's a name you guys might be more familiar with.
Hard to believe this polish is almost three years old, isn't it?
It still had an amazingly smooth formula and opaque in two coats. The one thing that has happened over time, however, is the yellow glitters ended up bleeding out. Because of this, the color of the base changed slightly to a peachy pink instead of a lighter pink it was originally. Regardless, I'm still really impressed! Especially considering one of my other polishes from around that time frame was completely thick to the point of no return.
I seriously got so many flashbacks of when I first discovered the nail and indie community on Instagram. Heck you can still even find my first swatch of it on Instagram! I was completely in awe and wanted to spend my whole paycheck in one shot. That much really hasn't changed though, haha. It's so nice that I still had the one that started it all in my collection and that it was still wearable.
So tell me guys, what was your first indie polish?
Check out the others ladies participating in this months 'My First Indie' segment.
Such a great blast from the past. I love this polish! I completely forgot Polish Me Silly was formally Lush Lacquer.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I had almost forgotten as well since it has been so long.
Deletethis is so pretty. I lament the things I miss before I discovered nail polish on the internet...
ReplyDeleteHaha I think I was more into clothes and fashion before focusing on nail polish. Now I look like crap all the night, but my nails are fabulous lmao.
DeleteWell the "new" base colour looks awesome on you so I guess it improved?!
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks I really love the new tone as well. Definitely wearing a lot more often from now on.
DeleteThis is beautiful! My first indie was Picture Polish Fool's Gold and that was only this March lol I've been pretty obsessed since then and spent all my spare money in indie products!
ReplyDeleteHaha the addiction to indie polish is all too real, isn't it? I haven't looked back since.
DeleteLove this! My first indie (I really have to think back) I think was Lynnderella Snow Angel!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted a Lynnderella but still don't own one. I think I just want it for the sake of the name though haha.
DeleteThis is very lovely. I had go back on my blog and check but my first indies were a trio from F4 Polish. I still have them but I'm not sure if they are still useable.
ReplyDeletebeautiful swatch!!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot :)
DeleteSo great!! Love the link back to the first swatch! One of my fav things to see and read about are post like these :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks so much better on the nail than in the bottle. Love it. I have yet to try this brand still.
ReplyDeleteThis brand was off my radar at the time but I do have some made under their new name!
ReplyDeleteLove this post! So cool you still remember and own the first indie you bought! I can't even remember mine.. Floam, maybe?
ReplyDeleteI'm very much impressed by the fact that it's still super pretty! And also kinda inspired to reswatch my first indie ;)
ReplyDeleteAh! I love anything peach! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute polish! This was such a fun prompt and took me down memory lane as well!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun shade! Pretty sure my first indie was Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker!
ReplyDeleteNail girl logic - heehee, totally feel ya on that! This is such a flattering polish on you !
ReplyDeleteI love this! I can't even imagine what it would look like if it also had yellow glitter, I really like it with this combo of colours! (Well now I can - I just checked your instagram! Still like it without yellow!) :D
ReplyDeleteI do recognize Polish Me Silly for sure! And I love the peachy color, even though it happen by accident!
