13 Days of Halloween: Eyeball Nailart

Hiya guys! I am so excited because today marks the start of the countdown to Halloween! And with that in mind, I have decided to do a mani every day until the spookiest day of the year in a segment called the 13 Days of Halloween. This is definitely a super challenge, but I did say I wanted to get back to doing more art so here's my perfect chance. Taking inspiration from my favorite washi tape, I decided to go with a funky french and combine it with some creepy eyeballs.

...I'm watching you! Too spooky, I know. Haha. Even though these didn't turn out exactly how I envisioned (no pun intended), I am still madly in love with the creepy eyeballs.

In order to capture that nude-ish effect I used the sheer Sugar Daddy by Essie as my base. Of course I am once again using my favorite black, which is Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Black Out. The colors for the eyeballs are all neon acrylic paint and simple white from the brand American Craft. For the dots I simply used my new love, which I have been raving nonstop about the Winstonia metal dotting tool.

Initially I created a neat black french before I decided that it was too 'neat' for whats supposed to be a spooky kind of design. Using my paint brush, I did upstrokes to create uneven and tattered impression. Since this mani is all about the eyes, its important to get them as round as possible which is why the dotting tool really comes in handy.

So what else do I have cooked up for the countdown towards Halloween? You'll have to wait and see! Though I am definitely taking suggestions. Let's be real guys, thirteen back-to-back days of nail art is going to be rough haha. Cross your eyes fingers that I can get it done!
