The Color Box - Grey All The Things

Hiya guys! This month the Color Box is back with a new shade voted on by the Facebook group. It was a close race, but in the end the people voted and we wanted grey. I was so ecstatic about the choice because it's definitely such an underrated color. After the color choice had been made, I found out that I had been selected to review the box. There aren't enough words to describe the amount of pelvic thrusting that went on around the house.

The Color Box - Grey All The Things

The Color Box pre-order begins on September 19th and ends September 26th. Each box contains five full-size polishes and retails for $45 plus shipping. This box also ships internationally!

Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish - Scarlet Dusk

Scarlet Dusk can be described as a medium grey crelly with bright cherry red matte glitters with black and burgundy micro glitters. I created this shade along side Kristen of Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish. The formula applies a bit sheer, but builds up to an opaque finish in a few coats. I was able to use two coats and get full coverage, but if you have a light hand you might need a third. It dries to a slightly gritty finish, but smooths out nicely with a thick layer of topcoat. Shown here is two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Squall at St. George
Blue-Eyed Lacquer - Squall at St. George

Squall at St. George can be described as a blue-grey tight linear holographic with strong fine orange shimmer, orange shimmer, gun metal micro-flakies, and red micro-flakies. Created along side with blogger Two Girls One Blush. Hands down one of my favorites from this box! The color is so vibrant and rich in tone, I find it perfect for this time of year as well. Formula has a really opaque consistency, practically a one coater. Shown here is two thin coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Contrary Polish - Fly Free

Fly Free can be described as a pale grey with linear holo with green and purple shifting shimmer and black micro-flakies. Inspired by the Rock Dove. Created along side with blogger xoxo, Jen. The formula has a sheer application, but it manages to build up to an opaque finish. Nice smooth and easy application! Shown here in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Polish M - Manna's Magnificent Masterpiece
Polish M - Manna's Magnificent Masterpiece

Manna's Magnificent Masterpiece can be described as a medium grey with scattered holo, pink/purple to blue/green UCC mega flakies and a purple to blue shifty pigment. Created along side with blogger Manna's Manis. The formula is a bit on the sheer side, but fantastic self-leveling. I felt like I could have got away with just two coats, but added a third for some extra flakies. I really love the consistency, it has a great balance of thin and thick. Shown here in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer - Glittery Grey Matter

Glittery Grey Matter can be described as a pale grey, almost white crelly with blue and purple shimmer and a scattering of holo micro flakies. Created along side with blogger Amanda Loves Polish! I cannot wait to use this gorgeous beauty in the winter time. My photos do the sparkle no justice. The formula wasn't as sheer as I was expecting, but does need some layering for an opaque finish. It has a great consistency for me, not too thick or too thin.Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Who would have thought a grey theme could have this much diversity?! Overall this box turned out to be everything I hoped it would be and more. I loved working along side Kristen of Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish to create Scarlet Dusk. It was honestly a dream come true to have this opportunity and I really hope you guys like it as much as we do.

Honestly though, all the creators and bloggers worked so well together on this box. I was really impressed with Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer, as this was my first time trying her brand. This experience definitely makes me want to head her way to shop for myself. But tell me what you guys think! I'd love to hear which one of these is your favorite.
