Tux Polish - Sparkler Trio

Hiya guys! I'm only two weeks away from my birthday and I honestly don't know how to feel about it. I mean on one hand I have gifts to look forward to, but then there is the whole getting older thing. This year marks a milestone I guess as it's the big 3 - 0... it feels so weird even saying that. I shouldn't complain too much though, I still get carded every once in a while haha. Thank goodness for those Puerto Rican genes! But moving on, for today I'm sharing swatches for the Sparkler Trio by Tux Polish, which consists of three gorgeous shimmer and holo mixes. I've had these for a little while sitting in my polish mountain of untried shades and it's about time I get to try them out. Without further ado, let's go ahead and get started!

Tux Polish - Goddess Potential
Tux Polish - Goddess Potential

Goddess Potential can be described as a berry purple holo with blue shimmer and dark and light pink holo glitter throughout. Starting off this review with what turned out to be my favorite among the trio. And trust me, no one is more surprised about that fact than I am. This hue tends to lean a little towards the 'pinky' side, which is not something I normally go for. But there is just something about the combination of shimmer and glitter that really make this base stand out to me. And like I always say, my photos don't do either aspect any justice. The color also looks really nice against my skin-complexion and doesn't bring out too much warmth.

The formula has a sheer application with fantastic build-up throughout. Consistency wise it tends to lean a bit on the thin side, but does not run or cause any difficulty. The glitter disperses well in the finish and doesn't clump or take away from the holo/shimmer. It dries down to a high shine gritty finish, but it smooths out perfectly after topcoat. There are also minimal brush strokes visible in the finish that mostly end up blending out as it dries. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Tux Polish - Silver Sparkler
Tux Polish - Silver Sparkler

Silver Sparkler can be described as a silver holo with gray flakies, micro glitter, and a bit of red shimmer. While I love the fact that this is such a different and fun combination, I'm not entirely loving it like I thought I would. I think the micro-glitters end up giving the base an odd almost textured look that I'm not crazy about. That said, I think the red shimmer looks really gorgeous against the silver. Unfortunately my photos don't do that aspect of it any justice and it definitely comes to life under direct sunlight. The tone of the silver also looks good against my skin-tone, giving me a bit of a tan glow that I love.

The formula has a sheer application like all the others and builds-up easily for full coverage. The consistency on this shade felt a bit off to me during the layering in comparison to the others. While the first coat felt thin, as I layered the second it started to thicken making the third coat a little difficult. I'm not sure if this is a batch vs formula issue, but it's something to keep in mind if you decide to purchase. It dried down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out nicely after topcoat. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Ocean Jewel can be described as a silvery teal-blue holo with blue and silver micro glitter. If I had to pick another favorite and must-have, this would be it. Of course, you guys know how much I love blue shades but this one deserves the merit ten times over. I also have to say, I appreciate the brightness of the blue whilst remaining low-key enough to wear easily. It's bright enough to be eye-catching without being overbearing like a neon can sometimes come across. It's also a fantastic hue against my skin-complexion and also most other skin tones as well. I can't imagine this shade clashing against any one or looking bad with any outfit either. It's definitely an all around fun summer shade that begs to be worn time and time again.

The formula has a really sheer application that builds-up well for full coverage. Consistency wise it leans on the thin side, but I didn't have any trouble with it pooling or running. There are again some very minimal brush strokes in the finish that mostly blend out. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. I also experienced no staining after removal to either my cuticles or nail beds. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
