Hiya guys! This weekend I was a little swatching machine and I couldn't be happier. I've been having a rough few days dealing with my chronic depression and anxiety, so being able to sit down and enjoy my favorite hobby was nice beyond belief. I know I have quite a few things to catch up, but I promise I am working through my pile as quickly as I can. But enough of that, you're here for the polish so let's talk about it. Today I'm sharing a few shades from a new brand to me Sun Polish. Based in Southern California, Sun Polish offers a variety of cream and shimmer shades which are all 4-free. Let's get to the swatches!

29 can be described as a bold cherry red cream. What's a collection with a vibrant red? I actually think my first ever polish was a red when I was six years old. Funny thing... I stole it because I was little klepto, haha. It was just a phase and little did I know my parents were actually paying for what I took behind my back. Yep, I was as smooth as a cactus. Thankfully this polish isn't like me and is actually smooth and SO creamy.
The formula has a really opaque application, pretty much a one coater. I ended up doing an additional thin coat out of habit. Consistency wise it's very balanced, not too thick or too thin. It dries to a super high shine finish on its own. Unfortunately I did experience staining to my cuticles and nail bed on removal. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
13 can be described as a coral cream. It's such a close call, but I actually think this one might be my favorite. I don't usually have good luck with coral colors against my skin complexion. But this one... is absolutely stunning and brings out such a nice glow from my skin. It's just so bright and fun, summer or not this is a winner.
The formula has a very smooth and opaque application, though not enough to be a one coater. It has a very nice balanced consistency, which makes it a breeze to apply and layer. Again this one also dries to a very high shine finish. I did experience some minor cuticle staining on removal. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
17 can be described as a redish pink shimmer. It's the only shimmer out of the few I received and I have to say.. I like it more than I thought I would. Of course, I would have loved the shimmer to be a bit more powerful. But it's definitely noticeable enough to give this shade the right amount of pop-factor!
The formula has a sheer application that almost feels like a jelly. It has a smooth build-up, but you can still see a visible nail line when the light hits the nail at certain angles. The consistency leans a little on the thin side, but it's still perfectly manageable. I experienced no staining on removal to either my nail beds or cuticles with this shade. Woot! Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
Overall I was really impressed with these three shades in terms of formula and application. They were very easy to work with, the brush itself handled the polish nicely. I only wish I hadn't experienced the staining, but it's not something that bothers me personally. My nails are always painted, so my stains never see the light of day haha. But I really look forward to seeing more shades from this brand in the future. Especially more shimmers, I'd love to see some more exciting color palettes as well. Fab swatches, just wish reds weren't stainers on removal. I've only just started to apply cuticle oil to my nails, before polish removal and it really does help to stop any dry pieces soaking up the polish. Wishing u a good day 🌞
