Hiya guys! It's just another day the land of polish as we prep our wallets for Polish Pickup next week. This month the theme is Across the Universe and so far it's knocking my socks right off. All the interpretations are so unique and it gives a glimpse of the creativity behind a maker. I always think 'oh next month can't possibly make me spend more than I did this month' and somehow it does, haha. Though I know I'm not the only one who is in the same boat so that makes me feel much better! For today I'm sharing swatches for Space Pants by Sassy Pants Polish, which is the April contribution to the Polish Pickup Collaboration. This one ended up being my husbands favorite and now he wants me to wear for every date night. Gotta love a man who appreciates a beautiful polish. Let's go ahead and get right into the swatches!
Space Pants by Sassy Pants Polish will be available for purchase through the Polish Pickup Shop Friday, April 6th at 11AM EST through April 9th. The full-size 15mL shade will retail for $12 each and there is a cap this month at 100 bottles.
If you're not familiar with the concept, the Polish Pickup offers a fun, interactive experience that allows you to submit theme ideas, vote for your favorite theme, and selectively purchase your favorite polishes every month. As I mentioned before, the theme that was voted for April is Across the Universe. This month Angie found her inspiration in one of her favorite Saturday Night Live skits, Mafia Meeting. It's a confrontation between mobsters interrupted by a singer's (Peter Dinklage) performance about his “Space Pants” and features Gwen Stefani.
Sassy Pants Polish - Space Pants
Space Pants can be described as a black scattered holographic polish loaded with various holographic pigments, micro glitters and shreds. Also features a sprinkling of larger silver holographic hex glitters. As soon as I saw this shade all I could think about is very sparkly pants and then the name hit me. I was literally and very audibly shook, haha. Photos cannot begin to capture all the sparkle, this is truly a gorgeous shade and one of my favorite blacks in my collection.
The formula has a very sheer application that builds up easily for full coverage. Consistency wise it leans on the thick side due to all the glitters in the base, but it's manageable and I didn't feel the need to add thinner. There are plenty of glitters per brush stroke that disperse evenly across the nail. There is no need for fishing or placement, not even for the larger hex glitters. It dries down textured due to all the glitters, but it smooths out perfectly after a thick layer of topcoat. Shown in two to three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
