Jior Couture - 8th Anniversary/Birthday Collection

Hiya guys! I have an exciting post to share with you, but before I get into that I have equally as exciting blog news. This post the one you're reading right now is number 1000. Can you actually believe that?! I certainly cannot believe my babbling as extended for that many posts, haha. I'm actually really freaking excited, I never thought I would have a blog long enough to reach this milestone. But enough of all that, let's get to the polish talk that I am sure you're dying for. Today I'm sharing swatches for the Anniversary/Birthday Collection by Jior Couture, which consists of three gorgeous shades in various finishes. And speaking of milestones, join me in wishing Jior Couture a happy 8th birthday! It's absolutely incredible (time has flown by) and I wish Sacha a lot more success to come. Now let's go ahead and dive right into the swatches!

Jior Couture - And Many More

And Many More can be described as a pastel seafoam green with gold shimmer. First and foremost I have to admit I am digging this color. Like extremely so. Like haven't switched out of it for a week now, haha. I was really taken back by how much I ended up loving it since I'm not one for frosty shimmer finishes. Speaking of shimmer, it's all about the gold. That really makes this color stand out and for me it just feels like such a different unique combination. The hue of the base brings out some cool warmth from my skin-tone and I actually didn't mind it one bit. Plus it happens to click so well for the season. Win-win.

The formula has a sheer application that builds-up nice and even for full coverage. Consistency wise it leaned on the thick side, but was manageable and didn't need thinner. It dries down to a gritty semi-matte finish that can be smoothed out after topcoat. There are also minimal brush strokes in the finish that mostly blend out, but it dependent on how careful you are during layering. Now in the macro you can see some dark dots that look like pigment specks. I consulted with the maker and she feels it may be bits of the shimmer and not pigment per say. Please note: I was the only swatcher to experience this and her testers also didn't have this issue. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Jior Couture - The 8th
Jior Couture - The 8th

The 8th can be described as a bold metallic gold holo. And here we have my favorite and pick as must-have from this collection. If there is one thing that Jior Couture excels in is creating gorgeous gold and bronze polishes. Looking over my collection 90% of polishes in this color family are from this brand. It's a simple color and finish combination, but it's a winner in my book and a must-have (if you don't own anything similar). Yes, it brings out some warmth from my skin-tone. But you know what, it works SO well against it to give me a sun-kissed goddess look.

The formula has a really good opacity throughout the application, but not quite enough to be a one coater. Perfectly balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. It's so creamy and smooth throughout that it's a dream to work with. There are minimal brush strokes in the finish that mostly blend out as it dries. Once dry it has a nice natural high-shine finish on its own. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Jior Couture - 14 on the 14th

14 on the 14th can be described as a pastel pink with pink and gold shimmer and gold and pink flakes. And here we have unfortunately my least favorite from this collection. I had issues with the formula (which I'll mention in a bit), but the ultimately it's about the tone of pink. I feel like it just didn't suit my skin-tone whatsoever and ended up clashing against it. It's really a shame, I can never pull off this dainty pastel pink and it's so beautiful otherwise. Like I said, it has the touch of daintiness and the gold specks bring a real regal vibe.

The formula has an extremely sheer application that I couldn't get to work against my stained nails. I instead decided to layer it as a topper over a similar colored pink base. The consistency leaned on the thick side, so I ended up adding a bit of thinner for easy layering. There is great flake distribution throughout each brush stoke without any clumping. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Shown in two coats over a pink cream base and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
