Kathleen & Company - Purple Pixies on Parade

Purple Pixies on Parade can be described as a purple crelly with turquoise metallic microflakes and color shifting flakies. There is so much purple in the RTPC series (with more to come) and I am absolutely loving it. Plus all the variations are steller and this one in particular for me stands out because of the metallic touch. I love the subtle flakes in the finish, it adds a nice pop factor while not taking away from the base. It's such a dainty and soft color, it feels like a polish a fairy would wear. The color does bring out some warmth from my skin-tone, but it's not too much to start clashing against it.

The formula has a sheer application with a really great build-up for full coverage. Consistency wise it's well balanced, not too thick or too thin. I was definitely impressed by that considering how full of flakies each coat was. Speaking of which, the flakies are so well distributed across the nail without clumping. There were minimal brush strokes visible in the finish, but they end up blending out on their own. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Sassy Cats Lacquer - Fantasmic Blur
Sassy Cats Lacquer - Fantasmic Blur

Fantasmic Blur can be described as greenish-bluish jelly polish with iridescent squared and hex blue, pink, purple, green & rainbow flakes. It's all about the flakes this week and I am in polish girl heaven over it. The hue definitely stood out to me as soon as I laid eyes on the bottle. I mean teal + flakes, need I say more? I feel like it's been a while since I've worn a creamy pigmented color like this and I am digging it for the Spring actually. The mix of the colored flakes make me think of a floral arrangement, haha. Or maybe that's just me with warmer weather on the brain. Either way the color looks really good against my skin-tone and doesn't clash or highlight too much warmth. Always a big plus in my book.

The formula has a really great opacity, though not quite enough to be a one coater. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how opaque this shade was for a jelly finish. The consistency tended to lean on the thick side and I added a bit of thinner for smoother layering. To me though that's expected from a flake filled polish like this. Each brush stroke has ample flakes and gives a full coverage look without clumping. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish, that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Also I did experience some minimal staining on removal to my cuticles and nail beds. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
