Supermoon Lacquer - Sorry Not Sorry Collection

Hiya guys! I'm running on fumes... acetone fumes that is. No, that's just weird haha. But I have been staying up late this in a desperate attempt to catch up. And you know what, a dozen red bulls later I am almost at the finish line haha. Okay time to talk polish, you're here for me to enable you after all. And enable you I will! *insert Hulk stance* Oh boy, it's going to be a weird post today. Anyway today I'm sharing swatches for the Sorry Not Sorry Collection by The Howling Boutique's Supermoon Lacquer, which is inspired by the namesake song by Demi Lovato. Each shade is named using various lyrics of the song (much like the I Am Cannibal Collection). I'm definitely here for it. Not only is her music phenomenal, but she's the queen of the thirst trap (see Henry Cavill). Let's go ahead and get right into the swatches!

Supermoon Lacquer - And Baby, I'm the Baddest
Supermoon Lacquer - And Baby, I'm the Baddest

And Baby, I'm the Baddest can be described as a blue tinted blackened base packed with various blue/purple/red/gold color shifting shimmers and iridescent blue pearl microflakies. It wouldn't be a Mardi collection without a killer blue and here she is knocking our socks off. It was so tough to capture this beauty, the shimmer was so sparkly it kept throwing my camera out of focus haha. Got to love a polish that can even make a lens quiver. The hue itself  is definitely one of those you can wear year-round no matter the occasion. Plus it looks great against any skin-tone, it's just one of those colors that can never go wrong.

The formula has a pretty opaque application, but not enough to be a one coater. Consistency is well balanced, not too thick or too thin. Smooth easy layering and perfect coverage. Although it has a lot of sparkle and shimmer, the color shift is on the subtle side even in person. It dries down to a high-shine non-gritty finish on its own. Now I did experience some minor staining on removal to my nail beds and cuticles. It wasn't stubborn staining, but it should also be noted that I only wore it for a few hours. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Bright as Technicolor
Supermoon Lacquer - Bright as Technicolor

Bright as Technicolor can be described as an electric violet holographic base with magenta and periwinkle, purple-to-red and magenta-to-gold color shifting shimmer, violet sparks, and iridescent violet and rose pearl microflakies. No, I'm not drooling you are! Gosh I love everything about the vibrant touch, bright and in your person without venturing into neon. It's perfection and one of my favorites from this collection. If you love yourself some purple, then this one needs a spot in your collection. It also has a jaw-dropping holo finish that (of course) photos don't do justice because I swatch in a cave.

The formula has a good opacity, but it's not enough to be considered a one coater. The consistency is perfectly balanced, not too thick or too thin. Pretty much a 'smooth as butter' kind of polish, flawless. As I mentioned before, this shade has a very strong holo finish much more than my photos could capture. It dries down to a smooth high-shine finish on its own. I experienced no staining on removal to either my nail bed or cuticles. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Out Here Lookin' Like Revenge
Supermoon Lacquer - Out Here Lookin' Like Revenge

Out Here Lookin' Like Revenge can be described as a bright raspberry red scattered holographic base filled with violet/red/orange color shifting shimmer, red-to-gold color shifting aurora pigment, purple sparks, iridescent violet microflakies, hot pink microflakies, holographic microflakies, and holographic and metallic magenta microglitters. And speaking of delicious... Okay no one said that word exactly I'm just hungry. In all seriousness, this is THE one for me from this collection and has a big ol' stamp of approval. It's perfection. From the unique color, to the shimmery finish, to the way it looks against my skin-tone.

The formula has a similar opacity and application to Bright as Technicolor. Nicely opaque, but not enough to be a one coater. Plus you're going to want that second coat to give it that extra touch of holo and shimmer. Consistency is also well balanced, not too thick or too thin. It dries down to a beautiful high-shine smooth finish on its own. And as a extra bam, I experienced no staining on removal to either my cuticles or nail beds. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Second Chance You'll Never Get
Supermoon Lacquer - Second Chance You'll Never Get

Second Chance You'll Never Get can be described as an aqua blue-ish turquoise base with pink-to-orange and red-to-yellow color shifting shimmer, gold and red sparks, purple pearl microflakies, holographic microflakies, iridescent blue-to-purple color shifting microglitter, and a subtle holographic finish. Talk about the perfect Spring blue! Although it's not a favorite per say it's still a stunner in its own right. It has a very complex combination for that depth-y finish Mardi is known for. I was also pleasantly surprised how well it looked against my skin-tone.

The formula has a pretty good opaque application, though not enough to be considered a one coater. Consistency wise it leaned thick and I chose to add thinner for smoother layering. Mardi was made aware of the issue and has adjusted the formula for release. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that outs after topcoat without issue. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Such a Bitter Pill
Supermoon Lacquer - Such a Bitter Pill

Such a Bitter Pill can be described as a light pink-ish nude base filled with blue-to-orange, turquoise-to-purple, and green-to-red color shifting shimmer, blue sparks, holographic microflakies, and silver and iridescent holographic microglitter. And finally we have a surprise favorite of mine from this gorgeous collection. Yeah... I'm shook. While pink itself is hit or miss for me, light pinks are usually a no-go. Then this baby comes along and completely rocks my world, haha. It's dainty and just... SO freaking pretty. It does pull some warmth from my skin-tone, but I don't mind it as it gives me a nice glow. Highly recommend nabbing this one.

The formula has a pretty good opacity for a light color and builds-up easily for full coverage. Similar to Second Chance You'll Never Getthe consistency leaned on the thick side and I added thinner in order to have smooth layering. Mardi did mention that she tweaked the formula on this one as well so the release batch should not have the same issues. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish, but smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
