Supermoon Lacquer - We Are Bulletproof: Wings Edition Collection | Swatches & Review

Hiya guys! Another day, another slew of BTS related excitement. To be fair, I am no way near over the fact that I have tickets for the upcoming concerts. Especially because I will be meeting up with fellow nail blogger Jasmyn of The Painted Fox Diaries. Yes, my girl fell down the KPop rabbit hole with me. Plus knowing that a new album is on the horizon, it's all too much for my little heart to handle. So instead I am trying to focus on the present and the joy that this post is bringing me. For today I'm sharing swatches for the We Are Bulletproof: Wings Edition Collection by Supermoon Lacquer, which consists of seven shades one per each member of BTS. The entire collection is inspired by the Wings era of BTS and named after each of the member solo. I made sure to link to each video just in case you are interested in checking it out. Hint hint, nudge nudge. Haha I'm just over here trying to get as many people as possible into BTS. Let's go ahead and get straight away into these swatches! Fair warning, it's a photo heavy post ahead.

Supermoon Lacquer - Begin
Supermoon Lacquer - Begin

Inspired by Jungkook's album photoshoot and named after his solo track. The song with English translation can be watched/listened to here: https://youtu.be/dlDXYQZzdug

Begin can be described as a holographic indigo based blue-to-red multichrome filled with matching color shifting shimmer, silver/white and red sparks, red and rose pearl microflakies, and holographic copper and red microglitter.

The formula has a very opaque application and can be considered almost a one coater. Like always, I personally prefer adding a second thin coat just to enhance the finish. It has a perfectly well balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. Very easy to work with. The holographic flame is very strong in this particular shade, much more under direct sunlight. It dries down to a smooth high-shine finish on its own, but I did also finish it off with a topcoat. I experienced no staining on removal to either my cuticles or my nail beds. Very impressive for such a rich pigmented blue. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Lie
Supermoon Lacquer - Lie

Inspired by Jimin's album photoshoot and named after his solo track. The song with English translation can be watched/listened to here: https://youtu.be/WoJfrm4rMp4.

Lie can be described as a holographic white base with a super pale blue tint filled with bronze/purple/green and pink/violet/copper multichrome pigment, pink-to-aqua color shifting aurora pigment, purple-to-green color shifting shimmer, silver and white shimmer, aqua, gold, and violet sparks, and lavender microflakies.

The formula has a good opacity that builds-up well for full coverage. It feels very creamy and the layering feels thick on the nail. Because of this 'thickness' the application can be a little tricky as it tends to pull. That said the consistency is not thick in of itself and maintains that balanced vibe as you apply. The holo flame and shimmer comes of as very subtle on the nail, especially in the indoor lighting I am using for photos. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out after topcoat without issue. Shown in two to three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Stigma
Supermoon Lacquer - Stigma

Inspired by Taehyung aka V's album photoshoot and named after his solo track. The song with English translation can be watched/listened to here: https://youtu.be/AcAvNIZ5bDs.

Stigma can be described as a deep purple base filled with blue/purple/copper/magenta multichrome pigment, purple-to-copper color shifting aurora pigment, magenta-to-yellow and violet-to-gold color shifting shimmer, fuchsia and violet sparks, purple pearl microflakies, and holographic gold and violet microglitter.

The formula has a very sheer application that leans towards being a jelly. Although not quite what I would consider a true jelly formula if that makes sense. It has a really great build-up and self-leveling for full coverage easily. Consistency wise feels right on par with some of the others. Not too thick or too thin. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after some topcoat. I didn't experience any staining on removal to my cuticles or nail beds. Again it's very impressive to find that in a rich color. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - First Love
Supermoon Lacquer - First Love

Inspired by Yoongi aka Suga's album photoshoot and named after his solo track. The song with English translation can be watched/listened to here: https://youtu.be/YHMHuZiNYf8.

First Love can be described as a holographic gray base filled with cyan/blue/purple/copper multichrome pigment, red and silver shimmer, blue, copper, gold, and red sparks, red pearl microflakies, iridescent gold flakies, and holographic gold microglitter.

The formula has a very opaque application that could almost be a one coater. It again benefits from the second coat in order to have more sparkle. It ends up feeling more like a crelly more than anything else and definitely has that lovely cream full vibe. The holo flame is a little subtle against the base even under direct sunlight. The consistency is well balanced like most of the others and is neither thick or thin. It dries down to a gritty finish that smooths out after topcoat. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Inspired by Namjoon aka RM's album photoshoot and named after his solo track. The song with English translation can be watched/listened to here: https://youtu.be/IKshED7ATOg.

Reflection can be described as a holographic dark denim-blue base filled with blue/purple/copper/magenta and cyan-to-purple multichrome pigment, blue-to-red and green-to-pink color shifting shimmer, silver/white sparks, snow white microflakies, and iridescent blue flakies.

The formula has a very opaque application that is easily a one coat wonder. For personal preferences I opted for a second coat for intensifying the holo flame. Perfectly balanced consistency that gave me no issues whatsoever. Definitely hands down my favorite among the collection. The holographic flame is so intense - by far the most from the lot - and sparkles so much more under direct sunlight. It dries down to a smooth high-shine finish on its own, but I did top it off with a topcoat as well. I experienced no staining on removal to either my nail beds or my cuticles. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Mama
Supermoon Lacquer - Mama

Inspired by Hoseok aka J-Hope's album photoshoot and named after his solo track. The song with English translation can be watched/listened to here: https://youtu.be/Ha0Pu1Hqn5A.

Mama can be described as a reddish-orange base filled with copper/gold/green multichrome pigment, bronze-to-green color shifting aurora pigment, magenta-to-gold, orange-to-green, and red-to-yellow color shifting shimmer, red sparks, rainbow pearl microflakies, iridescent rainbow microglitter, and holographic gold and silver microglitter.

The formula has a really great opacity, but not quite enough to be considered a one coater. Plus the finish really benefits from the second coat as there is a lot of intense sparkle and shimmer. Consistency wise it is well balanced throughout, neither too thick or too thin. Very easy to work with. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out after topcoat. There are minimal brush strokes in the finish, but they end up blending out as the polish dries. I experienced no staining on removal to either my cuticles or nail beds. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Awake
Supermoon Lacquer - Awake

Inspired by Jin's album photoshoot and named after his solo track. The song with English translation can be watched/listened to here: https://youtu.be/6oPnWcQ1mQQ

Awake can be described as a deep teal base filled with cyan-to-purple multichrome pigment, blue-to-red and turquoise-to-violet color shifting shimmer, violet sparks, purple pearl microflakies, iridescent teal/blue and blue/purple microglitter, and holographic gold and pink microglitter.

The formula has a good opacity but does lean on the sheerer side in compared to some of the others. The opacity builds-up really nicely for full coverage. It has a similar formula and application to that of Stigma where it kind of leans towards being a jelly without actually being a jelly. The consistency is well balanced and doesn't lean neither too thick or too thin. It dries down to a gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. On removal I did experience some minor staining to my cuticles, but none to my actual nail beds. Shown in two to three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
