Digit-al Dozen - New & Improved Week - Day 2

Hiya guys! I'm totally a day behind on my Digital Dozen posts... Yes, already I'm behind. I know, I know. Someone needs to tell my headaches to bug off for good so I can get my stuff done. In all seriousness, this is the worst I have felt in my entire life but I am trying to hang in there as best I can. Bottom line though, I may be late but I am not giving up or stopping nail art cause it's what I freaking love to do. Now for Day 2 of New & Improved Week for the Digital Dozen I decided to go the 'improved' route. I went back and I mean way back to 2013 for this recreation! It's actually the first floral design I ever attempted.

Back then I struggled so hard to do floral so I came up with this simple way to get them done and still be cute. Definitely more artsy kind of abstract, but I still love it just as much as I did back then. Though I took the whole 'improved' thing a step further and made this a no-tool needed kind of mani!

And now for a look at the throwback photo from May 2013...

I hope I didn't just accidentally scar you guys for life or something. To be fair I think I just almost scarred myself off, I mean I definitely did a puke face haha. It's crazy how far I've come since then! Back then I used to do all my nail stuff on top of my computer desk and just snap a photo. Actually... kind of miss that simplicity haha.

Now here's a break down of everything else I used to create this mani:

  • Base: Sally Hansen Xtreme White On
  • American Craft acrylic paint: Cerulean Blue, Sizzle Pink, and Violet Purple
  • Toothpick
  • Top Coat: Butter London Matte

Talk about simple, right?! You can definitely use a brush if you'd like more control, but a toothpick works just fine. Just make sure the base is totally dry so that you don't poke and lift the polish off... like I did... about a dozen times. Good thing this is such a simple mani or it would of been a pain to do so many redos!

Please don't forget to give me a thumbs up and subscribe.

And now don't forget all the other ladies from the Digital Dozen who did their Day 2 looks on the actual day... not like me... *sigh*

  1. It's so pretty! And don't make a puke face at the original...I wouldn't be able to do it that good!

    1. Thanks so much. I always make puke faces (and many other faces) when I look at my own stuff, even the stuff I did last night haha. I am way too hard on myself I know lol.

    1. Thank you so much. Some days are definitely worse than others. I'm just thankfully I have been able to avoid an extended ER visit so far *knock on wood*.

  4. Awww, don't be too hard on yourself, we all had to start somewhere don't we? I do love the simplicity of using just 3 colors this time around, and the design looks perfect!

    1. Thanks a lot! I think I mostly beat myself up on my lack of nail care. I treated my poor nails like tools back then!

  5. Although I think a puke face is being way too hard on yourself, the difference is astounding, you have become such a pro! It's so neat, it could've been nail wraps.

  8. I love seeing something so fresh and pretty- the colors are really nice against the white background. And I like the original! Definitely not puke-face-worthy!
