Hiya guys! Over the summer I made a goal of going into New York City for a few visits and that is one thing I actually managed to accomplish off my checklist. Quite a few times in fact. The funny thing is that before this year I hadn't been into NY for probably 10 years if not more. Mostly all due to my overwhelming anxiety and bad body condition. But since I put it on my bucket list and have been working on my health I was determined to venture out of NJ and so I did! More than I even expected, haha. Over the course of the summer I took about half a dozen trips into the city for various events and some casual shopping. I'm a huge fan of the kpop group BTS and wanted to go into NYC to visit the Line Friends Store where their BT21 character merch are sold. My bias (favorite member) of BTS is Park Jimin and his BT21 character is a little yellow dog named Chimmy. And that's what this haul is all about!
If you don't live near a Line Friends store it can be a little difficult finding BT21 items. Sometimes you can find items on Amazon, but you also run into items being marked up quite a bit. Especially seasonal ones. Funny enough... I didn't get any of the summer seasonal items, haha. The only one I really wanted was a hand-fan, which was of course the one they didn't have. At least not the Chimmy version. That was definitely hardest part, finding the things I wanted in the character I wanted. Well no, the hardest part was navigating around the medium sized store with a hundred people. Then again I did go during high-time during the weekend, because I never make things easy for myself haha. It was so worth all the struggle though as I scored so many adorable items that I had my eye on for months.
BT21 Chimmy Hooded Travel Neck Pillow
Isn't this the cutest?! I was tempted to include a photo of me wearing it, haha. Admittedly this was purchased in a rush decision since I had traveling plans within the week. Even if it wasn't for that I would have ended up buying this sooner or later. I have a lot of plans in regards to traveling especially when it comes to BTS concert stops so this feels like a great purchase for the future as well. When I visited the Line Store in New York the Chimmy version of the travel pillow wasn't available. So again because I was in a rush I ended up purchasing this online on Amazon. But yeah It's a really cute pillow and in terms of price, retailing at $24.95, for me it's not too high set compared to other standard travel pillows.
BT21 Chimmy Doll Keychain & Lying Plush Bag Charm
These are probably my favorite items from this entire haul! And a favorite amongst my dogs as well unfortunately. Especially Sophia seeing as she goes into my bag to pull it out to play. I will clearly need to get her one at some point, haha. But I cannot tell you how long I have wanted and looked for these little guys. Silly as it may sound, I really wanted these to be able to take photos with during BTS events. It's a very cute way to capture your time during events such as concerts or cafe pop-ups. I am kicking myself for not having it sooner as there were quite a few BTS related events I did this summer. Anyway I finally ended up finding the plush bag charm in the store for $13.95, but ended up having to buy the keychain one on Amazon for $17.95. The pricing wasn't terrible for either one, but had I found the keychain first I don't think I would have splurged on the other.
BT21 Chimmy Mechanical Pencil & 4-Color Pen
I'm a planner girl thru and thru so whenever there is stationary I am all about it. My visit was during back to school season so I had to hold myself back and put things back on the shelf. At the end of the day I wanted to purchase things that would actually get used on a daily basis. Writing utensils it is. The 4-color Pen retails for $6.95 and the Mechanical Pencil retails for $3.95 both in the Line Store. Now would I recommend these for the quality of the pen and pencil? No, not at all. For the prices they are pretty ordinary and don't offer anything special other than the outer design. The pens in particular I didn't love as it writes very thinly and the colors seem almost dull. Especially the pink ink. I'll still be using both of these, but not as much as I was hoping for.
BT21 Chimmy Fennec Mesh Mini Cross Bag
Initially I was so on the fence about whether or not I wanted to get this cross bag. I think my biggest reason being it isn't yellow, haha. The green in particular just didn't feel like it meshed well with Chimmy. And not to mention the color felt like it wouldn't match a lot of things in my wardrobe (not that yellow would have been much better in that regard though). In the end I obviously gave in because the design of the bag felt very travel friendly with it's compact size and over the should style. It retailed in the Line Friends Store for about $23.95, which I felt was reasonable for a bag. Definitely a recommended buy in my book.
BT21 Chimmy Auto Umbrella
Next purchase we have the most adorable and eye-catching umbrella on the planet. I will probably be spotted a million miles away with how bright and fun this design looks. And somehow I don't mind it, haha. Chimmy has seriously made me fall in love with the color yellow and there is no going back from it. Again though this felt like an impulse purchase as I told myself it was needed for my trip overseas. The umbrella retails for $22.95 in the Line Friends Store, which felt a little over priced compared to some of the other items. It's pretty decently sized though and the material feels very well made. Funny enough I have not had a reason to use this just yet, but it's nice to know I have whenever there are cloudy skies abound.
BT21 Chimmy Enamel Passport Cover
Of course because I was planning a trip overseas I needed to get myself a passport and obviously a passport holder was only natural. Aka I needed more Chimmy things so here I am making excuses, haha. There are actually quite a few different designs for the passport covers per character and it was so hard to choose. This was not the one I wanted originally, but since it was still adorable I decided to go for it. In retrospect I kind of do still wish I would have held out for one of the other designs due to the material. The cover with this one has a smooth plastic-y rubber kind of feel, whilst the others I have seen lean more towards being a textured cloth. The plastic annoys me when having to pull out cards from the sleeves as it makes feel real snug.
