OPI - My Vampire is Buff | Swatch & Review

Hiya guys! I know it's been a little while, but to keep a long story short I just needed a mental health break. And although being consistent (word of the year after all) with my blog was and is still important to me, I don't want to push myself into a corner where I hate blogging. I ended up taking all of July away from social media to simply chill out and for the most part I do feel refreshed. I think I will still be scaling back this month and only posting twice a week as opposed to three times. Nothing is set in stone right now and that's what matters - I need to be flexible with myself so that my mind doesn't crash amongst the pressure I put on myself. So yeah first polish post of the month and I'm coming at you with a quickie swatch of one of my all time favorites. Here it is in all of it's nude glory OPI My Vampire is Buff! Not what you'd expect to see when you hear 'all time favorite' from me I suppose. Not to mention the fact that you're probably surprised to see me back in round-ish nails again. I thought that I missed rocking this shape on my hand and especially swatching with it, but after sporting it for a month... Meh. I'm terrible I know. You'll end up seeing this shape around for a few more posts, but as of the present moment I have changed it back up to squares. One of these days I'll have to do something wild... like maybe almond shape nails. Yeah, that's 'wild' to me haha. I'm a simple square nail loving kind of girl, don't laugh at me too much.

I was debating on what polish I wanted to do a swatch of and then my eyes landed on this polish that always sits on my desk. You know it's serious business when a particular polish has a permanent spot on a polish girls desk. Whenever I'm in a rush and don't have time for much but still need a splash of color this is my go-to cream. I ended up having to purchase a third bottle last month because yes that is how much and often I come back to this shade. But also I realize like, hey I have never swatched this polish for my blog before! One of my favorite polishes and I have never swatched it!? Yeah, that needed to change real quick.

My Vampire is Buff can be described as pale nude cream. As I mentioned this shade is one of my all time favorites and something I go back to quite often. Yes, it tends to be a safe office friendly kind of shade. It's simple and not eye-catching like a neon would be. But to me there is just something magically about the simplicity, moreso the aura it alludes to. Almost regal, but more along the lines of classic. It feels like a timeless shade I guess is what I'm really trying to get at. Whatever the case may be, this beautiful color has effortlessly cemented a permanent spot in my collection. And in fact I plan to throw this back on my nails as soon as I finish a current swatching session I'm working on. The tone itself looks great against my skin complexion and doesn't bring out too much warmth. That's definitely a huge plus in my book as most nude beige colors tend to really bring out the pink in my undertones.

The formula has a great opaque application with good coverage, but isn't quite enough to be a one coater. You can definitely get away with thinner coats if you have a heavy hand during the application, but I do always tend to go very light as a personal preference. Either way it builds-up really easily though and has perfect self leveling throughout. Consistency is completely spot on and doesn't lean neither too thin or too thick. It dries down to a super high shine finish on its own. The polish has a great luscious look even before topcoat is even applied! Shown here in two coats and then sealed off with a glossy topcoat.

That's a wrap on this quickie swatch! Super simple and to the point. Definitely something that was much needed in terms of both polishing and blogging. It's always kind of an intimating feeling to post after a long period of radio silence. And it's like the longer I'm away the harder it feels to come back. At the end of the day there is still that want inside me to continue doing what I do and that's why I'm still here. Even if it means bringing you simple polish swatches I hope you guys stick around with me for the ride. Well that's all I have for you today, stay safe and I'll catch you next time xoxo Moonbaes.
