Orosa Beauty | Swatches & Review

Hiya guys! I cannot believe how fast time is flying by and here we are on the verge of entering Fall already. As in like... next week! Insert surprise Pikachu face here my friends. I feel like being stuck at home during quarantine has really made me lose track of time. Especially the Summer months, like did Summer even officially happen?! I'm sure there were people who went to the beach or the boardwalk and got to enjoy some aspects of the season. But for me? It was a whole lot of nothing, haha. It's not all bad though since I did a lot of self-care and nail polish time. Speaking of which, today I'm sharing some swatches for some beautiful creams from new-to-me brand Orosa Beauty. I got to pick out the colors myself, so I wanted to go with something a little different but still up my alley. And surprisingly no blue in sight, haha. See guys, you're girl here is expanding her tastes haha. But yeah let's go ahead and jump right into these swatches!

Orosa Nail Polish | Swatches & Review

These shades and a bunch of other gorgeous colors are available online at Orosa Beauty. Each polish comes in a square-shaped 15mL bottle and retails for $12. And not to mention all orders over $30 will receive free shipping in the US. The brand recently collaborated with the D'Amelio sisters on a collection called Coastal Craze as well. So definitely worth checking out as the brand has lots of beautiful shades to choose from!

Orosa Nail Polish - Clementine
Orosa Nail Polish - Clementine

Clementine can be described as an intense orange-red cream. You know those colors that you wear all the time even though it doesn't look the best on you? That's this color for me, haha. I absolutely adore how vibrant, loud, and eye-catching this mix of orange and red can be. But... it kinda gives me lobster fingers. You guys probably think I'm nut for even saying that, haha. The hue brings out too much warmth from my skin-tone and instead of giving me a summer glow, I seem to get a little more pinky in contrast. Regardless I still love wearing this color because it's a serious 'pop' every time I put it on. And even though the tone is extremely bright, the color vibes with Fall just as much as it does for Summer.

The formula has a pretty great application and opacity, but it's definitely not enough to be considered a one coater. Though out of the three in this most this was by far the closest to a one coater. It has a balanced consistency throughout, not too thick or too thin. It dries down to a smooth high-shine finish that gives me a bit of a squishy jelly vibe. I experienced no staining on removal to either my cuticles or nail beds. An impressive feat for such a strong bold base. Shown here in two coats and sealed off with a glossy topcoat.

Orosa Nail Polish - Star
Orosa Nail Polish - Star

Star can be described as a bright yellow cream. I'm swooning and screaming at the same time... and it's not even a blue polish. Are we sure I'm okay? It's so funny, but for the longest time yellow was my least favorite color. Like ever. Especially when it came to nail polish. But now? It's all I wear - clothes, nails, even my glasses! The color always manages to give me a beautiful glow and makes me stand out in a crowd. This particular hue in this instance brings out a bit of warmth, but it's not overwhelming in the slightest. If you're like past me and aren't a fan of the color - TRUST ME - you need to give it a chance. Before you know it you'll be changing your entire wardrobe around the color, haha. Okay maybe that's a bit much, but at the very least you'll have a new hue in your arsenal!

The formula leans on the sheer side and doesn't provide full opacity right away. The self-leveling is decent, but does have that familiar patching you tend to see with yellow polishes. It does however build-up really nice and easy for full coverage. Consistency is spot on and not too thick or too thin. The finish dries down to a high shine smooth and luscious look. Very gorgeous all around! I would also like to note that I experienced no staining during the removal process. Shown here in two to three coats and sealed off with a glossy topcoat

Orosa Nail Polish - Snow
Orosa Nail Polish - Snow

Snow can be described as warm off white cream. Definitely the safest color here. No matter the season or the occasion, you cannot wrong with a gorgeous clean white... or in this case off-white cream. It also makes the perfect base for some nail art. Is that some foreshadowing? Perhaps. But yeah I really love how this looks against my skin tone. And just really how it looks in general. The color comes off very clean and sleek with a touch of sophistication. If the formula was a tad bit different, I could see the shade having a permanent spot on my nail desk.

Speaking of which... The formula has a very sheer application that is a bit difficult to build-up and work with. There was very little self leveling and some patchiness throughout the application, which required a few more coats than I'd like to even out. The consistency was a good balance, which was much appreciated since I needed to layer so much. As much as I love the finished look, I'm not sure I would dig this polish back out due to the formula. Especially not for nail art, which sucks since that was my initial thought when asking for this shade. The finish dries down to a smooth jelly-ish high shine look that at least looks super beautiful when it's all said and done. Shown here in three to four coats and sealed off with a glossy topcoat.

And that's for the swatches - a short but sweet post, don't you think? I have definitely missed doing some occasional swatching, so definitely be on the look out for some more nail posts soon. And I do mean soon, not like sometime this century like I usually do. That said, this is my last post with this nail shape. I'm very much over it and ready to stick with squares again, haha. As for the polishes themselves, I really liked them on their own and to wear together as well. Though I was expecting and hoping for more opaque creams, these were still easy enough to work with for the most part. I plan on sharing a cute skittle mani using these shades in the next few weeks, so please look forward to that.

If I have to pick one as a favorite must have shade (and it should be totally obvious by now)... then it has to go to Star! Because it will make you a star, haha. Ugh, I'm such a cheese ball. But in all seriousness, I feel like this yellow-mustard kind of hue is such a vibe! I have so many shirts that go perfectly with this shade and as I mentioned before even GLASSES. Yeah, she's a must have! Rose triple stamp of approval on this one. But tell me, what's your favorite shade in this post? Any color make your vibe-check? As always, keep safe and I will catch you next time xoxo Moonbaes.
