Chirality Nail Polish - Polish Pick Up May 2021

Hiya guys! It has been such a chaotic week, I feel like a cartoon character with the dizzy eyes. And for the first time in a long time it has just been day-job related. It's a lot of feeling like I'm being treated unfairly and under paid for the amount of work I am having to do. I won't get too much more into it than that, but it has been bumming me out quite badly to the point of crying. It blows. But more than ever I am happy to have found my escape in the nail world again. So yeah in good news we are closing off the week with another gorgeous Polish Pick-Up shade just in time for the release at 11AM EST. Today I'm sharing the May contribution to Polish Pick-Up from Chirality Nail Polish. This month the theme is Guilty Pleasures and this shade takes it's inspiration from simply Treating Yourself. I think this one really nails it for me, pun intended haha. I am definitely not a shy girl when it comes to treating myself, unfortunately for my wallet and household. Let's go ahead and get right into these swatches!

Chirality Nail Polish - The Urge to Splurge

The Urge to Splurge by Chirality Nail Polish will be available through Polish Pick-Up from May 7th until May 10th. There is no cap on this shade and each 15mL bottle retails for $12.00.

The Urge to Splurge can be described as a sapphire blue base color accented with pops of bright blue filled with plum to green-gold color shifting shimmer. Isn't this giving you lush vamp vibes or what?! I feel like I have been needing a polish like this for a long time. It just feels like ages since I have had something dark on my nails and the emo girl in me is missing those days severely. The combination itself is absolutely stunning with the contrasting bright blue shimmer against the darker plum color for the base. There was a subtle shift to a green-gold. but it was too subtle to be captured by my camera under a light-box. I have always been prone towards liking dark colors against my skin-tone. It doesn't bring out neither too much warmth or too much coolness where it takes away from my natural olive complexion.

The formula has a pretty good opacity in one coat and builds-up well for full coverage. Definitely not a one coater, but you don't more than two to completely cover the nail line. It has nice self-leveling throughout the layering and the minimal brush strokes blend away as it dries. The consistency felt well balanced, not too thick or too thin. It dries down to a very minimal gritty finish that smoothes with ease out after topcoat. I experienced some minor staining on removal to my nail beds, but it was nothing too noticeable (though I did wear the polish for a short amount of time). Honestly though that's to be expected from such a rich base and it's never something that personally bothers me. To recap, the swatch showcases the polish in two coats and sealed off with a glossy topcoat.

So that's a wrap on another gorgeous shade this month that needs to be in your cart! As I mentioned before, I really loved the vibrancy of the blue shimmer and glitters that contrast the dark base so much. It was nothing something that was noticeable in the bottle initially, so when I started to put it on I let it out a very audible 'ooohhhhhh'. I have always been a sucker for these kind of dark vampy colors and it had been way too long since I have worn something along those lines. Definitely make sure to check out more from Chirality Nail Polish down in the links below and don't forget this polish is only around until Monday May 10th.  Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below. Until next time, stay safe and well xoxo Moonbaes.
