Week 3 - Red Coat Tuesday

Hiya guys, how's it going today? It feels like today is just flying by and thank goodness too. It's my first day away from baby Sophia and I'm so anxious to see her. With all the photos I'm constantly taking of her, I've been debating starting an Instagram account for her. Seems a little on the cheesy side though, haha. Anyhow, I don't know about you, but Sophia and I are super psyched about tonight's brand new Pretty Little Liars. And as you know around here we paint Tuesdays red, with the awesome linkup hosted by the lovely Color Me So Crazy! For this week's Red Coat Tuesday, my nail bestie Cheyenne and myself decided to mash up our bestie twin nails for the month.

What do you think? Cheyenne and me went totally fancy and chic with this weeks design. I absolutely love how this came out, because as you know I love the color red. Another bonus being part of this link-up, haha.  

Here's the materials used to create this look:

• Polishes: Sally Hansen's Black Out from the Xtreme line and OPI's Race Red
• Feathers from Winstonia
• Half Moon Vinyls from Twinkled T Vinyls
• Fast Drying Topcoat: Seche Vite

This is the first time I attempt any nail art with feathers even though I've seen a ton of beautiful manis with it. Holy moly, it was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I ended up having to redo the whole nail twice, because I couldn't get it to stick down the way I wanted. Next time I'm thinking of trying a more adhesive type of topcoat rather than a fast drying one. Other than the feathers, this mani is super simple but so sleek looking. What do you think? Have you tried using feathers before?
