Hiya guys. After a long week at work, it's finally to get the weekend started. Unfortunately, it's so cold outside and snowing that I will be spending all of it stuck at home. Good thing I have quite the untried stash to burn through. Top of that pile was this beauty right here, Masked Affair by L'Oreal. Yes, the brand a lot of us tend to walk right past in the drugstore. Their collections are normally not something I go out of my way to find, but this singular polish has changed that mindset. I'm a little late hopping on the Masked Affair train, but it's better late than never.
Masked Affair by L'Oreal can be purchased at your local drugstores. I was able to find mine at the first Walgreens I visited, but I think I ended up getting extremely lucky in that regard.
Masked Affair is a stunning silver/grey holographic polish. There were a bit of mixed reviews about the formula so I was hesitate when I started swatching the shade. Luckily, I was in for a pleasant surprise and experienced a smooth consistency. It was sheer in one coat, but managed to even out nicely in just three coats. Seen here are three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
That macro shot, am I right? I wish I could of taken some photos in actual sunlight instead of in a light box, but as you guys know I always swatch late at night. This is definitely going to be a great polish to wear during the summer with the sun shining down. It'll be like a walking rainbow on your nails!
Overall I have no regrets having given in to the hype and purchased this beauty. Every polish addict, whether you're a holo lover or not, needs to have this polish in their collection. It's all about that bling bling. I don't know why, but I kept imagining a scenario where L'Oreal sent in a spy to listen in on polish addict conversations. The guy would be talking over a walkie-talkie saying something along the lines of, "They want something called holo. They want the holo. We have to find out what that is!" Here's hoping that L'Oreal realizes the madness they have caused with this polish and continue on this path.

ReplyDeleteAdmittedly, I am not the most experienced or adept polisher, but I found the formula more difficult than the usual polish. On 2nd coat, when I tried to apply, some of the polish from the first coat were removed. I ended up returning it because there are a gazillion holos available for similar prices.
