Ellison's Organics - Brilliant | Swatch & Review

Hiya guys! I hope you've had a lovely weekend and a good start to the week so far. It's officially July and I begin my birthday girl countdown! Not only that, but I'm feeling a bit better with each passing day. So good stuff all around means I can start enjoying what I love to do again. That means polishing my days and nights away! Today I'm sharing a fun polish from the indie Ellison's Organics and it's called Brilliant. This singular polish is part of a glow-in-the-dark matte collection with about six other shades to choose from!

Brilliant by Ellison's Organics is available for purchase and retails for $12.00. Each bottle is a full-size 15 mL listing.

Brilliant can be described as a bright neon blue matte polish. The formula has a very sheer application with an almost jelly consistency. It runs a little bit on the thick side, but builds up evenly to an opaque finish. It is designed to dry completely matte on its own. Shown here are two coats without topcoat.

And as I mentioned before, it glows to a bright blue hue in the dark!

For the glow effect, I charged the polish for about 30 minutes before swatching. To charge the polish all you have to do is place it underneath a bright light! The longer you let the polish charge, the longer it will glow in the dark for you. Since I only charged it minimally, it lasted about an hour or so before it faded.

Of course, I had to add a topcoat so you can see the difference! It's always a nice touch when a polish can be so versatile in wear. Though I'd like to note that you can see a little bit of a nail line in the glossy photos vs the matte.

I did also attempt to watermarble and stamping test with this shade, but unfortunately it did not do well in either form. When it came to stamping, it was too sheer to pick up the image.  And for watermarbling it would not spread out in the water, I suspect because it was a bit too thick.

Overall I love how fun this polish is though I am admittedly a fan of glow in the dark polishes! It feels so rare to see glow in the dark polishes around with a few exceptions. Even though I do find them to be a lot of fun to wear it should be noted that these do have a shelf life. Usually a polish will only glow up to a years time before it stops. However that doesn't stop the polish itself from applying beautifully!

To recap, Brilliant by Ellison's Organics is available for purchase and retails for $12.00. Each bottle is a full-size 15 mL listing. There are about six other shades to choose from as well that all glow-in-the-dark and dry matte!

  1. Great color and love the bonus of glow in the dark...I would definitely wear a topcoat too. I don't really like matte nail polish myself.

  6. Brilliant looks like such a pretty polish. I love the way it looks so beautifully subtle as a matte. But the glow in the dark is super cool, reminds me of being a kid playing with glow sticks except these are on your nails!
