Sassy Pants 'n' Friends July Trio Unboxing & Swatches

Hiya guys! Another day, another way to make your wallet cringe. I live to be an enabler, especially when it comes to gorgeous polishes. Now it's time for an unboxing video and review as I bring you the July Sassy Pants 'n' Friends Box. This month's theme is Buffett of Oceans, which is inspired by the legendary musician, Jimmy Buffett. Joining this month in the collaboration are Daily Hues Nail Lacquer and Joy Lacquer. Let's go ahead and jump right into this review!

The Buffett of Oceans Box is now available for purchase with the first 10 orders ready to ship. Pre-order is open until June 25th with remaining orders shipping the first week of August. Each box retails for $29.99, which includes US shipping. International is $26.99 plus shipping. Purchases for the box can only be made through Sassy Pants Polish shop www.sassypantspolish.com.

As with every month I did an unboxing/first impression video for you guys. The video is a bit on the lengthy side, but it does include live swatches of each one of the polishes.

Joy Lacquer - A Pirate Looks at 40

A Pirate Looks at 40 by Joy Lacquer can be described as a tiffany blue/seafoam green with a gold linear holo and white shimmer. Starting this review off by showing you guys my favorite polish from this box. And that's such a hard thing to even say because all three are really gorgeous. There is just so much depth with the shimmer reflecting against the holo. The formula has a sheer application, but builds up evenly to an opaque finish. Fantastic self-leveling as well. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Joy Lacquer - Tropical Scented Cuticle Balm

Joy Lacquer has included a moisturizing cuticle balm in a tropical scent. Love, love, love the smell of this balm! The consistency was a bit rougher than I anticipated, it felt more like a sugar scrub then a balm. But it's also super packed with oils, which makes it so hydrating and moisturizing.

Sassy Pants Polish - Margaritaville

Margaritaville by Sassy Pants Polish can be described as a deep ocean blue foil polish. Definitely the most surprising polish amongst the three for me. I was almost expecting a micro-glitter based on the bottle! The formula actually has a really opaque and smooth application. Great self-leveling as well, it makes me crave some more foil polishes from Sassy Pants. The finish dries a bit on the gritty side, which ends up smooth with a layer of topcoat. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Sassy Pants Polish - Ocean Water Scented Hand Soap

Sassy Pants Polish's extra contribution comes from her big sister company, Handmade Natural Beauty. It is a glycerin soap in the scent of Ocean water and has finely ground blue luffa powder for gentle exfoliation. I loved the smell of this as soon as I opened the plastic baggie, it made me feel like I was on the boardwalk!

Daily Hues Lacquer - It's 5 o'clock Somewhere

It's 5 o'clock Somewhere by Daily Hues Nail Lacquer is a cerulean/teal blue with golden shimmer. Isn't this so dreamy?! The color shifts depending on the lighting from blue to a teal/green. The formula has such a smooth and easy application, not to mention it's so opaque! I almost got away with using one coat, but I felt it needed the second to cover some patchy areas. Unfortunately I did have some minor staining on removal to my cuticle and nail bed (even through a base coat). Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Daily Hues Lacquer - Sea Shell Candies

And finally, Jenn from Daily Hues provides us with some cute sea-shell shaped candies! These were so delicious, I ended up eating the whole bag as I swatched and edited. Very reminiscent of the little heart-shaped conversation candies from Valentines Day and who doesn't love those, right?!

Overall, all three makers are here to impress with this box! Personally this has been my favorite box so far, but I am a huge fan of blues/teals so that's no surprise. I always love collaboration boxes because I think it's a great way to try out brands you may not own yet. For me it was Joy Lacquer and her contribution has made me fall completely head over heels. Based on her formula alone, I cannot wait to give her brand a try outside of this box! But what about you guys, have you tried out all these indies before? What do you think of the July box? Let me know if you'll be grabbing one too!
