Hiya guys! It's the last of my winter break before I have to go back to work and I am totally bummed. I sound like such a brat complaining, haha. All good things must come to an end... except when it comes to beautiful polish! There will also be more to make out little addict hearts rejoice. Speaking of... Here with me is the last polish of the year, so of course we have to make sure it's a stunner. Today I'm sharing swatches for the gorgeous Protostar by Supermoon Lacquer, which is the first group custom for Black Hearted Beauties. If you're not familiar, this is a Facebook group for all of us that are fans of black nail polish. My little black heart has never been so happy that this group exists, haha. Oh yes, I can sense the wave of emo nostalgia hitting me like a brick. Without further ado, let's jump into the swatches!

Supermoon Lacquer - Protostar
Protostar can be described as a scattered holographic, blackened violet base filled with green, aqua, and red sparks, blue/purple/red and purple/red/gold chameleon pigment, turquoise-to-purple, green-to-red, and red-to-yellow color shifting shimmer. Yeah, there is nothing simple about this black polish! It's so packed of colors and shimmer that photos cannot possibly capture them all. I haven't been able to stop thinking about doing galaxy nails with these as a background. Yeah, I need to make that happen!
The formula has a very opaque and smooth application that is nearly a one coat. Though I'd like to note that I do like adding that second layer for optimal glitter sparkle. It has a nice balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. Pretty much the same formula you will come to find from most of Supermoon Lacquer's polishes. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths our perfectly after topcoat. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
It was requested through a member of the fan group and so I totally had to see for myself what it looked like matted. Not surprising at all, but it's absolutely stunning!
