Road to Polish Con Spring 2018 | Week 3 - Supernatural Lacquer & Le Polish

Hiya guys! Long time no post and I have been missing the polish world like crazy. It's been a heck of a sick week, like literally coughing up a lung kind of sick. Unfortunately I have been in bed with a lot of fatigue and unable to swatch for the past week. True horror for a polish addict, haha. I actually had some minor heart complications due to bad medication on top of having the flu. But I'm finally doing a lot better, though I do have to take it easy on the swatching the next few days. Not fun, but I rather take it slow then wind up even sicker. Enough about that, I need some fun and so do you guys I'm sure! Today I'm sharing swatches for Week Three of the Road to Polish Con, which features Supernatural Lacquer and Le Polish. Both shades this week are inspired by Shakespeare's A Midsummer Nights Dream, which is the overall theme for the Spring 2018 Polish Con event. Let's go ahead and get right to the swatches!

Le Polish - Love Is an Act of Nature
Le Polish - Love Is an Act of Nature

Love Is an Act of Nature can be described as a olive green scattered holo with a purple to red multichrome shift. Starting off this review with my favorite shade so far in the RTPC series and boy is it a stunner! Of course, I couldn't capture the color shifts but rest assure they are there. I just can't get over the depth in the finish - the holo and chrome shifts work together beautifully in this. Plus the color is very complimentary against any skin tone.

The formula has a really opaque application, but not quite enough to be a one coater. Consistency wise it leans on the thick side, though it is manageable without the need for thinner. It's so smooth with minimal brush strokes that blend as it dries. Definitely a lot more sparkly in person and under direct sunlight. It dries down to a very minimal gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Also I experienced no staining on removal to my nail beds or cuticles. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supernatural Lacquer - What Fools These Mortals Be
Supernatural Lacquer - What Fools These Mortals Be

What Fools These Mortals Be can be described as a plum purple base with green/blue/red shimmer, purple and gold illusion flakes and a subtle touch of scattered holo. Isn't this such a delicious color?! Okay, I'll admit that's a weird way to describe it but I'm starving. Hungry or not, this is one gorgeous shade. The hue is definitely not something I normally go for, but it works perfectly for Spring while being unique and different. The flakes and shimmer, of course, add the perfect pop factor as well.

The formula has a sheer application that builds-up pretty evenly for full coverage. The consistency is well balanced, not too thick or too thin. There are lots of flakes per brush stroke and they disperse great across the nail. There is no clumping and the flakes lay nice and flat against the base. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out after topcoat. I did experience some very minimal staining on removal to my cuticles, but it wasn't anything long lasting. Shown in two to three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
