Smokey Mountain Lacquers - The Indie Shop Event LEs

Hiya guys! It's just another day here in winter wonderland... what... Yes, that's a completely true and accurate statement as I sit here watching snow fall on the first day of Spring. Mother nature put the tequila down, you're drunk and it's embarrassing. But in all seriousness, I am freezing my cute little nails off because I was not prepared for this. Yet another reason to be jealous of you going to the Indie Shop Event in Atlanta this weekend. Yes... that was my attempt at a seamless transition, haha. Today I'm sharing swatches for the two limited edition by Smokey Mountain Lacquers, which will debut at the event along side the Spring collection. I'll have a review for that later on, so stay tuned and hit that subscribe button. For now though let's go ahead and get into these swatches.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers - The Indie Shop Event LEs

The Event LEs from Smokey Mountain Lacquers will be available at The Indie Shop event on Saturday, March 24th. Each full-size 15mL shade will retail for $12 at TIS. These will be available for purchase online at a later date - will update and let you guys know when.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Midnight Train To Georgia
Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Midnight Train To Georgia

Midnight Train To Georgia can be described as a deep purple with a strong red flash, green to blue color shifting pigment and blue to purple to red chameleon glitters. The pigment in this shade is absolutely EVERYTHING! I say this all the time, but photos really don't do this one any justice. It gives the finish a next level depth and complexity unlike any other SML I have seen thus far. The rich shade is also very complimentary against any skin-tone and I loved how it looks on me.

The formula has a sheer application that builds up easily for full coverage. It has a balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. There are some minimal visible brush strokes, but for the most part they do tend to blend out as it dries. Very easy as butter layering with the glitters dispersing evenly across the nail. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. And I'm happy to say I experienced no staining on removal to my nail beds or my cuticles. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Lake Lanier
Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Lake Lanier

Lake Lanier can be described as a Caribbean blue holo with added turquoise holo micro glitters. Yeah... I'm not drooling, you are. Okay, I definitely am too haha. That shouldn't come as a surprise though as I am always drawn to blue hues, especially ones that are this vibrant. Now while it's not a super unique shade, the added turquoise glitters give it a nice twist and touch of pop. The brightness of the blue looks great against my skin-tone and is perfect as a year round shade.

The formula has a really great opacity, though not opaque enough to be a one coater. Consistency wise it's well balanced, not too thick or too thin. Again with this shade there are some brush strokes visible that for the most part blend out. It dries down to a gritty and high-shine finish that smooths out after topcoat. Now I did experience some minimal staining to my cuticles on removal, but there was no staining to my nail beds. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Overall both of these are truly gorgeous shades that are definitely bringing A game for the event. I especially love Lake Lanier, I feel like Kim has perfected blue shades. And even with the minimal staining this one might be an ultimate must-have pick for me. It should be noted I am prone to staining from blues, so it might not do the same for you.  But like I said before, I won't be able to attend The Indie Shop event due to distance unfortunately. If you're going then please be sure to stop by the Smokey Mountain Lacquers table and give Kim a big hug from me!

To recap, the Event LEs from Smokey Mountain Lacquers will be available at The Indie Shop event on Saturday, March 24th. Each full-size 15mL shade will retail for $12 at TIS. These will be available for purchase online at a later date - will update and let you guys know when.
