Hiya guys! It's time for the weekend, but unfortunately I am not feeling much better whatsoever. In fact I am somehow feeling a little worse and I just finished the meds I was given. But here's a little something to put a pep in my step, we are officially one week away from Polish Pickup. This month the theme that was voted on is... 90s Pop Culture! One of my favorites thus far and that is actually saying a lot since every month seems to rock my socks. Now for today I'm sharing swatches for The Mouths Of Decadence by Great Lakes Lacquer, which is the May contribution to the Polish Pickup Collaboration. You might as well put this one on the wish-list now because this brand is always giving us killers, haha. Let's go ahead and get right into the swatches!
The Mouths Of Decadence by Great Lakes Lacquer will be available for purchase through the Polish Pickup Shop Friday, May 4th at 11AM EST through May 7th. The full-size 15mL shade will retail for $12.50 each and there is no cap this month.
If you're not familiar with the concept, the Polish Pickup offers a fun, interactive experience that allows you to submit theme ideas, vote for your favorite theme, and selectively purchase your favorite polishes every month. As I mentioned before, the theme that was voted for May is
90s Pop Culture. This month Mariah found her inspiration from the Hunger Strike music video by the rock band Temple of the Dog.
Great Lakes Lacquer - The Mouths Of Decadence
The Mouths Of Decadence can be described as a muted gray blue scattered holo with copper red to gold to green shifting shimmer. Mariah needs to be given the crown for queen of the shimmer, she nails it every time. Pun intended because I'm sick and need a giggle. Even if it's a sad cough-y giggle, haha. In all seriousness though, I love everything about this color and shimmer combination. Plus the hue looks great against my skin-tone and doesn't bring out too much warmth. Definitely a winner all around in my book.
The formula has a sheer application with great build-up throughout for full coverage. It has a perfectly balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. It ends up feeling so creamy and smooth - a real dream to work with. It dries down to a smooth high-shine finish on its own. Also as a further note, I experienced no staining on removal to either my nail beds or cuticles. Shown in two to three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
