Hiya guys! Summer is inching closer and closer and for the first time ever I'm excited for it. It's been far too gloomy in Jersey the past few months and I'm looking forward to some sunshine. And of course I'm looking forward to seeing some beautiful summer polishes to brighten up my nails. For today I am sharing swatches for Barbados Surprise by Sassy Pants Polish. This gorgeous shade is inspired by the Carribbean-themed drink Barbados Surprise Cocktail from the Tipsy Bartender. When I was sent the PR info for the shade I honestly couldn't decide what I wanted to try first - the drink or the polish haha. You best believe I ended up doing both, though thankfully not at the same time because I'm chaotic enough. Definitely recommend trying out the recipe, especially for those upcoming summer parties. Now without further ado, let's go ahead and jump right into these swatches!

Sassy Pants Polish - Barbados Surprise

Barbados Surprise can be described as an aqua multi-chrome with assorted UCC flakies, iridescent flakes, assorted microflakies and scattered holo. Isn't she a beauty?! Wowza. The combination of the flakes and colors against the shimmery base is perfection. It really shines and brings such depth and dimension. I cannot fully express how gorgeous this looks under direct sunlight, it has a pink purple shimmer that really brings the whole thing together. Plus the scattered holo adds the perfect finishing touch. The aqua tone looks great against my skin-tone and doesn't bring out too much warmth.

The formula has a sheer application as intended for a jelly finish. It builds-up really well for almost complete full coverage and didn't give me any issues throughout the layering. My nail lines did show through if you look carefully, but it wasn't enough to be considered completely sheer. Consistency wise it's well balanced, not too thick or too thin. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by the application since it's so jam-packed with flakes. Each brush stroke has plenty of flakes that spread well on the nail without clumping. It dries down to a gritty finish due to all the flakes, but it smooths out perfectly after topcoat. And just to note since this is an aqua base, I experienced no staining on removal to either my cuticles or nail beds. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
