Hiya guys! I want to start off by saying thank you for all the support with my last post. It was overwhelming in the best way possible, but I would be lying if I didn't admit to the fact that it caused me anxiety as well. I'm definitely okay, just need a little time to process all the messages and comments. But with that being said, we need to talk some polish! It's that time of the month where our wallets feel the hurt... Polish Pick Up! For today I'm sharing swatches for Sun Do Shine by Supermoon Lacquer, which is the August contribution to the Polish Pickup Collaboration. It is one of my favorite colors this month because it's so out of the norm for my tastes. This is definitely one of those times though where the polish can do all the talking and doesn't need me to hype it up, haha. So without further ado, let's get to it!

Sun Do Shine by Supermoon Lacquer will be available for purchase through the Polish Pickup Shop Friday, August 3rd at 11AM EST through August 6th. The full-size 12mL shade will retail for $12.50 each and there is no cap this month.

If you're not familiar with the concept, the Polish Pickup offers a fun, interactive experience that allows you to submit theme ideas, vote for your favorite theme, and selectively purchase your favorite polishes every month. As I mentioned before, the theme that was voted for August is Musicals. This month Mardi found her inspiration from Don Bluth's classic 1991 live action/animated musical comedy film, 'Rock-A-Doodle'! The color of 'Sun Do Shine' was inspired by the rooster Chanticleer, one of the main characters in the film. The name of the polish comes from the first song in the film, which Chanticleer sings (or crows) in order to raise the sun every morning.

Supermoon Lacquer - Sun Do Shine

Sun Do Shine can be described as a bright, red-leaning orange based holographic multichrome that shifts in color from an almost 'rust red' to copper to gold and is filled with red-to-green aurora pigment, red-to-yellow and copper-to-green color shifting shimmer, orange and copper shimmer, red sparks, gold holographic microglitter, and silver holographic micro flakies. Of course I have to start off by saying that my photos don't do any justice to the shifting shimmer. There is so much color shifting especially under direct sunlight... but as you may know I live in a cave, haha. That said, this color is EVERYTHING especially for the upcoming Fall season and will be a color I pull out a lot. As I mentioned briefly before this hue is typically not something I'm drawn to, but this particular color to shimmer combination makes it irresistible. The tone doesn't clash against my skin complexion either or bring out too much warmth. Plus I just cannot emphasize that shimmer enough, it feels like it makes the base glow as if it's being hit by sunlight.

The formula has a very opaque application, but not quite enough to be considered a one coater. Consistency wise it's well very balanced, neither too thick or too thin. Extremely easy to work with and to layer, much like this brand is known for. There is a good amount of color shift with minimal effort, but unfortunately my indoor lighting does not capture it well. Put this beauty under direct sunlight though and it comes to life! It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. And despite it's rich pigmentation, I experienced no staining on removal to either my cuticles or nail beds. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
