Supernatural Lacquer Review & Swatches

Hi guys. It's almost the end of the week and I am ecstatic about it! I have the whole week off from work and I intend to relax as much as I can while watching Netflix. Any Supernatural fans in the house? If so, brace yourself! Today I have swatches for the grand relaunch of Supernatural Lacquer and its core collection! Stefanie, the owner, had a beautiful baby girl and went on hiatus for almost a year. But the shop is reopening and I honestly have been both anxious and excited for its return.

Supernatural Lacquer Review & Swatches

Supernatural Lacquer will be reopening on Friday June 12th at 8PM EST. The polishes shown here are part of the core collection and will be available in both full sizes only. The relaunch will also mark the release of a few cuticles oils in pineapple, almond, and peach scent.

Along with the seven that were sent to me for review, I also swatched Purple Nurpled (not shown above). This was one that I had purchased last year before the grand hiatus and decided to swatch it again given its re-release. Commencing on relaunch, each order with at least one full size bottle will receive a silver angel wing charm! I personally love it when makers add small touches like this and the charm is really adorable as well.

Supernatural Lacquer - Djinn
Supernatural Lacquer - Djinn

Djinn is an electric blue jelly polish filled with teal/bright blue hex and square glitters. One of my favorites from way back, I'm so happy this one made the cut and is being re-released for you guys. It's simply so gorgeous and the glitter combination makes it feel magical. It glows beautifully in the dark too. I only had to charge it about fifteen minutes and I had a glow that lasted well through the night. Shown here in three thin coats. Good formula, but it is sheer and needs a few layers for an opaque finish. It dries naturally to a slightly matte look.

Supernatural Lacquer - Jefferson Starships
Supernatural Lacquer - Jefferson Starships

Jefferson Starships is a white crelly filled with black, teal, pink, green and yellow glitters in the form of micro, circle, and star shapes. We have another glow in the dark beauty here! You guys know I am a sucker for a white crelly and this one has such a fun combination of colors and shapes. The formula is a bit thick, but still manageable to work with. There is also a need for fishing for the large black star shaped glitters. The good thing is that Stefanie has assured me that she will be addressng the thickness issues for the batches on release! For these swatches, I used two thin coats and sealed them in with Seche Vite topcoat.

Supernatural Lacquer - We Kill The Sparkly Ones For Free
Supernatural Lacquer - We Kill The Sparkly Ones For Free

We Kill The Sparkly Ones For Free is a gorgeous clear micro holo glitter topper. Think about the infamous Fairy Dust from China Glaze with a lot more holo sparkle and you get this polish. Lots of great use with this one, it can be paired with anything. Nail art, watermarbles, or just straight cremes! Shown here over Margo by Zoya. Great formula and consistency, with ample glitter on a single brush stroke! I swatched this with a single thick coat and sealed it in with Seche Vite topcoat.

Supernatural Lacquer - Princess Elena
Supernatural Lacquer - Princess Elena

Princess Elena is an orchid purple with a shimmer and gold holo finish. This delicate and beautiful shade is named after Stefanie's daughter. How cute is that?! I wish I could have captured the holo, but it is a very subtle effect that should be visible in daylight. Darn my light-box. Good formula and consistency, not too thick or too thin. Shown here in three thin coats and dries to a slightly matte-satin finish. So gorgeous.

Supernatural Lacquer - Grace

Grace is a glorious holographic topcoat. Anyone else feel like this might be a unicorn trapped in a bottle? Haha. Shown here over Genevieve from Zoya with a single coat. Really easy and smooth formula, the application is fantastic. You don't need any additional topcoat or anything else, this literally holo-fyies and super shines.

Supernatural Lacquer - Purple Nurpled
Supernatural Lacquer - Purple Nurpled

Purple Nurpled is a dark purple jelly filled with bright blue micro and square glitters. I seriously had to take a minute after my photos and think, 'Uhh why hadn't I worn this more often?'. One of my favorites as well, the colors in this play off each other so flawlessly. Similar formula and application as Djinn. It dries slightly matte and needs three coats for an opaque finish. Shown here in three thin coats and sealed with Seche Vite topcoat.

Supernatural Lacquer - Yellow Eyed Demon
Supernatural Lacquer - Yellow Eyed Demon

Yellow Eyed Demon is a banana yellow crelly filled with green and black hex glitters. Holy glitters batman. You know those rare polishes that you end up having to put glitters back in the bottle because the application is so butter smooth? This is one of those! I'm not even a fan of yellow and I am nuts about this, it looks so good against my skin-tone. Definitely great formula. Shown here in two coats and sealed with Seche Vite topcoat.

Supernatural Lacquer - Abbadon
Supernatural Lacquer - Abbadon

Abbadon is a coral-like red holographic polish. To me this shade screams summer, it just feels like such a cool-down tone to wear. And do we need to talk about that holo? So much sparkle that I was definitely not expecting. The formula is great to apply, but it does tend to feel a little on the jelly side. Very sheer in the first two coats, I applied a third and felt you could still see my nail line in person. Shown here in three coats and sealed with Seche Vite topcoat.

I have to say please excuse the fuzz around my nails, haha. I never notice it until it's time to pull up photos on my computer. Now that said, let's talk cuticle oil. Supernatural Lacquer will be releasing three cuticles on Friday that will be available in both full and mini sizes. All three scents are very pleasant and not overbearing, I could definitely pick up on the fragrance without having to look which was what. My personal favorite is the Pineapple one, it reminds me of the summer and drinking Pina Coladas.

Please keep in mind I have only tested and used these for a short amount of time. Now I used these three interchangeably throughout my swatch session (five hours). You can see in the photo below how well moisturized my cuticles and skin are after all my acetone use. The oil has a great consistency, not too oily or didn't have any stickiness. The one thing I will say is I hope eventually these are in a roller instead of a polish bottle for ease of use when traveling.

Overall I am beyond amazed with the polishes being relaunched with the store opening. As I mentioned before Stefanie was gone almost a year from her business, but it has not altered her quality whatsoever. The formula in these are fantastic and there are quite a few that I have to say are must-haves. Djinn, Purple Nurpled, and Yellow Eyed Demon are probably my top three, but we also must not forgot about Grace. Definitely check out this brand if you haven't before, especially if you're a fan of the show Supernatural. The name of the polishes always give me such a kick as a huge fan of the show.

Don't forget to set your alarms, Supernatural Lacquer will be reopening tomorrow Friday June 12th at 8PM EST.
