TGIF! I'm sure every one is excited about the weekend, but I am especially so because I have Monday off from work. Pelvic thrusting all over the house, woot! I see a full day of polish playing in my future as I make my way down the untried pile. Today I have a another one from the top of that pile and it's from one of my favorite indie makers KB Shimmer. This fun glitter polish is called Mixed Peelings!
Mixed Peelings by KB Shimmer is considered now a retired shade and it is listed at clearance price! It's definitely a great time to grab it while you can.
Mixed Peelings can be described as a white crelly filled with neon green, lemon yellow and watermelon pink glitters. Crelly finishes are usually one of my favorites, but this one fell a little short in the formula department. On its own I felt the consistency was a bit thin and too sheer. Even after three coats I didn't achieve an opaque finish and felt really dissatisfied. I ended up doing one layer over a white base and it was so much better.
The glitter combination is definitely my favorite thing about this polish, it's so fun and bright. Very unique! I can see myself doing some stamping or nail art over this base. Of course, it'll have to be fruit related or maybe ice cream! Oh the ideas are really building up now, haha.
KB Shimmer is a big-time favorite in the polish community, but I do feel like my collection is lacking. Which one is your all-time favorite?
Love the bright colors in this. :)
ReplyDeleteSoooo cute!!
ReplyDeleteI've always been drawn to this one but feel like I have a lot of neon glitter crellies already. Knowing the formula is too sheer is definitely the deciding factor. Thanks for reviewing it!
ReplyDeleteGreat swatch! I have 5 KBshimmers, but 3 of those are in my untried pile. Totally Tubular is a great shade!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a crelly fan but that looks great on you !
ReplyDeleteI really like this color even though it needs undies..still fun!
ReplyDeleteThere are some really fun colors in this.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour combination but crellies and I just don't get along.
ReplyDeleteAwwww....so cute! I super love the color. Its a must try indeed!
ReplyDeleteI like this one a lot, it's a shame it's so sheer. I love crellies, and have quite a few KBShimmers.
ReplyDeleteWhite crellies are all sorts of gorgeous
