Hiya guys! TGIF. It's time for the weekend and some fun. Or if you're like me then it's time to catch up on all the things you have put off during the week. Including all those manis I'm behind on, haha. Well today I am sharing the next challenge prompt for the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas! This week my prompt was to do a mani using orange, green, and purple over a nude base. Tough, right? Well I suppose they don't call it a challenge for nothing! Add to the fact that I wanted something Halloween-ish. Welp, here is what I came with!
Prompt colors = check! Halloween creepy-ness = check! Okay so the nude is a little more hidden than it should be, but other than that I want to think of this as a success. I knew for weeks that I wanted to do a slime drip kind of mani, but it wasn't until this mani that it all came together.
I'll admit that this mani took a lot longer than it probably should of taken me. It was maybe around two to three hours, but that does include my five nail fails! Pre-planning manis is definitely not my strongest point, which means I spend an hour trying to get whats in my head into reality. Then another hour actually getting it done right, haha.
The hardest part was getting the slime dripping effect the way I wanted. Especially because I was working with textured polish!
To start off this mani I painted my nails in a nude base, I used Taylor by Zoya (one of my favorites). Then I had three colors I knew I had to work with in order to fulfill the challenge: green, purple, and orange. Luckily I am a huge texture polish fan so I had these babies ready to go in my stash! The green is West and the purple is East - both are from the now closed Virtuous Polish. The orange polish is from China Glaze and it's called Toe-tally Textured. I also used the all-time favorite Fairy Dust also from China Glaze, as well as, a matte topcoat from Butter London.
Killing it!!
