Awesome Sauce Indie Box - The Monster Mash

Hiya guys! It has been a rough couple of days. As I mentioned before, I have a brain disorder called hydrocephalus. I can best say my condition is a roller-coaster and for the past week I have been on one of the down slopes. It's super frustrating to have to even think about this, but there may be a hiatus on the horizon. Here's hoping things start to get better soon, fingers crossed. But on a happier note, I have such long anticipated swatches to share with you guys. Today I am writing about this months Awesome Sauce Indie Box called The Monster Mash!

Awesome Sauce Indie Box - The Monster Mash Edition

The Monster Mash Awesome Sauce Indie Box is currently still available for purchase while supplies last. Once sold out it will not be restocked! The box can be purchased in full-size bottles for $50.00 or in mini-size bottles for $30.00.

Vapid Lacquer - Headless Horseman
Vapid Lacquer - Headless Horseman

Headless Horseman, by Vapid Lacquer, can be described as a shimmering blue with red micro glitters and flakies. Such a gorgeous and rich shade with a unique glitter lacing. Definitely one of my favorites in this box especially because I can see myself wearing it outside of the Halloween season. The formula is very smooth and opaque on the first coat. It has a bit of a thick consistency, but it doesn't affect the application whatsoever. This polish dries to a very glossy shine finish on its own. In fact one nail has no topcoat while the others do, can you guess which one? Shown here is two coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Lavish Polish - Must Eat Brains
Lavish Polish - Must Eat Brains

Must Eat Brains, by Lavish Polish, can be described a nude crelly filled with red hexes in various sizes and copper micro glitters. Of course, what's a monster bash without some zombies! Another favorite right here (I feel like I'm going to be saying that a lot in this review)! The nude and red mesh extremely well to give you a beautiful combination. It definitely gives you that flesh-y feeling, doesn't it? The formula and consistency are super smooth and self levels very nicely on its own. Despite being a light nude base, the polish ends up having good opaque coats. Shown here is two coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supernatural Lacquer - Pumpkin Head
Supernatural Lacquer - Pumpkin Head

Pumpkin Head, by Supernatural Lacquer, can be described as a bright, pumpkin orange holo jelly with black shimmery flakes. This beauty is of course inspired by the 80's slasher/horror film Pumpkinhead! The shade of orange is so rich and silky, I can honestly see myself wearing this well after Halloween has past. And this is coming from someone who normally doesn't care for the shade! The formula and consistency are really smooth with an easy application throughout. It dries to a great shiny finish on its own without the need to topcoat. Shown here is two coats with a glossy topcoat.

Anonymous Lacquer - I Want To Drink Your Blood
Anonymous Lacquer - I Want To Drink Your Blood

I Want To Drink Your Blood, by Anonymous Lacquer, can be described as a bright red jelly packed with red, black, iridescent, and holo glitters. Red + Jelly = Happy Rose Dance. Seriously you guys know this is my absolute weakness right here in bottled form. Formula is sheer as to be expected from a jelly, but it builds up very evenly. The consistency is perfection as each brush stroke provides ample glitters that don't clump up whatsoever. This has such a gorgeous shine and squishy finish on its own. Shown here in three coats and sealed off with a glossy topcoat.

Ever After Polish - Witchin
Ever After Polish - Witchin

Witchin, by Ever After Polish, can be described as a deep blurple with flashes of green shimmer. Favorite alert! Seriously at this point I think every polish in this box has been a favorite so take that as you will. Visually striking though, I don't think I have been taken aback so much by a polish in a long time. Just very very gorgeous all around. Formula is a little on the thin side, so it does feel like it wants to run if the brush is overloaded. Like many of the others in this box, the finish has a great shine on its own without the need for topcoat. Shown here is two coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Of course every month the Awesome Sauce Indie Box comes packed with extra goodies besides the polishes. This month the two extras are a bag of Magic Potion Bath Dust from Ever After Polish and a tub of Pumpkin Scented Sugar Scrub from Supernatural Lacquer.

As soon as you open the box you can smell the sweet aroma of the bath dust filling the air. The Magic Potion Bath Dust comes in an easily resealable medium-sized bag. The quantity can fill one full body bath soak or can serve as two-three mani soaks. The scent as I briefly mentioned is very potent and sweet, I personally loved it and couldn't get enough! Scented with cinnamon, cedar wood and patchouli it is a very Fall-appropriate aroma.

Directions from the website: To use sprinkle contents of bag over warm bath water and step in as the fizzing action begins. For a mani use half of the bag and sprinkle over a warm bowl of water and soak hands or feet for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and towel dry.

The Pumpkin Pie Sugar Scrub is one of the extra items I was looking forward to the most. I'm a huge fan of nail care items and hoard them like no other. I love the soft texture on this sugar scrub, it has a nice consistency and definitely not too oiled down. It had a bit of a light fragrance to me so the pumpkin scent was not overwhelming at all.

Directions on how-to use from the website: Remove desired amount from container using a spoon or popsicle stick and warm between hands. As the oils melt from your body heat massage the sugar scrub into skin. Rinse with warm water.

And what box would be complete without some beautiful vinyls?! The Awesome Sauce Indie Box will also bring you a half sheet of Halloween vinyls from. Lou It Yourself Vinyls.

The half sheet includes vinyls in the form of bats, witches, spider webs, and the classic jack o' lantern faces. Definitely a very nice mixture of all things Halloween. You can do quite a few manis with these, especially if just do accent nails like I did in the manis below. I've used Lou It Yourself Vinyls in the past so I knew their quality was top notch and the vinyls always leave very crisp clean outlines.

Overall I feel like if you're as much of a Halloween fan as I am then this is the box for you! It is a fantastic showing for each one of the indies involved, including the guest Supernatural Lacquer. Not only does it showcase what each one of them can do so well, but the box gives us customers a great variety in finishes and colors. Even if Halloween isn't your thing, the Awesome Sauce Indie Box is definitely one to keep on your radar. With everything that is included you can feel the value in the price-tag, especially when all the polishes work so well.

The Monster Mash Awesome Sauce Indie Box is currently still available for purchase while supplies last. Once sold out it will not be restocked! The box can be purchased in full-size bottles for $50.00 or in mini-size bottles for $30.00.
