Hiya guys! I feel like I haven't blogged in so long even though it's just been a few days. There has been a lot going on with me health wise as I've mentioned before and it just keeps going downhill for me. So while I struggle to get better I'll be a little inconsistent with my schedule. Today I'm sharing a long overdue review for the Over the Rainbow Duo by Pampered Polishes. These were originally released for Saint Patrick's Day this year, but the colors end up working well year-round. This is also the first time I'm trying out this indie so it'll be a first impression review as well.
The Over the Rainbow Duo from Pampered Polishes can be purchased whilst supplies last. Each full-size bottle retails for $9.00. All polishes created by this indie are 5-free and cruelty free.
Girls Love Gold can be described as a bright gold polish jam packed with gold flakies and shimmer. Although the shade seems to bring out a lot of the warm undertones from my skin-tone, I still can't help but love this color. I definitely didn't own another gold quite like this one and it's so bright too. The formula has a smooth application and self-leveled well. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
Kiss Me... I'm Probably Irish! can be described as a pastel green polish jam packed with gold flakies and shimmer. Love the hints of gold in the finish, it adds such a beautiful touch. I think this one is no longer available for purchase because I couldn't find it on the site unfortunately. The formula had a similar application to the gold and applied with ease. Consistency wise it was a bit more sheer so it needed an extra layer to achieve full opacity. The brush strokes are a little noticeable, but it was not something I personally minded in this case. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
Overall I'm really taken back with the uniqueness of these shades. I ended up really liking them on me even though they wouldn't be something I'd normally seek out for myself. Love it when that ends up happening! Definitely a great first impression, both formulas had a similar consistency and gave me no issues during the application. I would like to note that a base coat is definitely needed with these shades because they tend to cling to ridges, which will give you a bumpy unflattering finish. Other than that though, like I said before, I'm highly impressed with the quality and it's an indie to keep an eye-out for. Let me know what you guys think down in the comments.
