Digit-al Dozen - Fashion Week - Day 1

Hiya guys! It's been a few days and wouldn't you know it... I ended up with the flu. Originally I caught it from my husband who was better in like two days. For me it's been almost a week and I still sound like a frog who ate a frog. But it's the start of Digit-al Dozen week and I'm determined to participate as we take on Fashion. For the older members this prompt is a redo, but it's my first go at this theme so I've been really excited about it.

For my Day 1 manicure, I am taking inspiration from an unlikely source... Kylie Jenner. Ah, the cringe. Say what you will about her, she does make some awesome fashion statements and I love looking through her Instagram. I chalk it up as a guilty pleasure, haha.

The one thing I wished I had in my collection was a chrome gold polish. I really wanted to match the gold shoes Kylie is wearing in the photo, but I felt like nothing I had matched. Watch I'll probably end up finding a polish in my stash weeks from now that would have been perfect.

And here's everything I used to create this look:

  • Polishes: OPI My Vampire is Buff, Zoya Ryan, Custom Gold from CDBL
  • Straight Clear Vinyls from Polished Vino
  • Stamping Plate: Uber Chic Plate 4-02
  • Gold Striping Tape
  • Mani Defender from Ellison's Organics
  • Top Coat: Seche Vite

Since I'm using an Uber Chic plate I thought I'd pass along that Ellison's Organics is having a sale right now. Get 20% off all Uber Chic items through her shop with the code WELCOMEUBER. Talk about the perfect chance to nab this plate or any others! I'm seriously addicted to Uber Chic, I think I purchased almost all of their plates.

Now even though I have the flu I decided to do a video with voiceover. Be sure to turn up your volume a little bit because my voice is pretty low due to my sore throat. I hope you guys enjoy froggy Rose's voiceover haha.

I did forget to record the portion of the manicure when I added the striping tape. Blame it on the meds. But it's really an optional step, I ended up adding it in order to give the gold a little more chrome feeling. In retrospect, you could have easily done dark blue/navy striping tape to match the straps on her shoes as well.

Let me know what you think of this design down in the comments. I really hope you love it as much as I do! Even if it's a little too fancy to be rocking while having the flu at home in pjs, haha. Don't forget to check out the other designs during Day 1 of The Digit-al Dozen Fashion week!
