Contrary Polish | Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City

Hiya guys! I hope you all are keeping warm, it's starting to get really chilly. Fingers crossed I don't fall ill because that's the last thing I need. Like ever, haha. But let's talk polish because this post has a lot of special meaning and heart behind it. Today I'm sharing swatches for A Match Made in KC by Contrary Polish, which was created as a charity polish to help to create and support life changing friendships for kids in Kansas City. Carrie of Contrary Polish and her husband have been a 'Big Couple' to a young man in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City for almost 3 years now. Needless to say, it's a cause very near and dear to their heart. A beautiful polish for a beautiful cause, what more is there to say? Let's get right into it!

A Match Made in KC can be described as a red polish filled with gold shimmer and tiny holographic flakes. I don't know about you guys, but I can never have too many red polishes in my collection. Red polish always takes me back to my childhood as it was one of the first colors I ever wore. This particular shade is absolutely gorgeous as well, so much sparkle and shine. The combination of the flakes and shimmer really add a nice touch of depth and dimension. The finish even has that little bit of a squishy jelly vibe that I adore. Also the color red looks great against my skin-complexion, it always gives me the perfect glow without bringing out too much warmth.

The formula has a sheer application that leans on being a jelly finish, but it does build-up to provide full coverage. Consistency wise it's well balanced throughout, not too thick or too thin. Very easy to work with and to layer. There is so much sparkle in the finish that as I said before my photos don't do it justice. It dries down to a smooth and high-shine finish on its own. And on a final note, I experienced no staining on removal to my nail beds or cuticles. Always a huge plus when it comes to a red polish! Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
