Hiya guys! Have you ever wanted something so much that it's made you cry? Well that's been me with this concert I want to go to in September. Long story short, tickets are sold out and the only ones available second hand are doubled in price. Not cool. Sigh. Anyway all that said... It's another day in the land of polish and we are one day closer to the video game themed Polish Pick Up. With such a fun theme this month I am sure to get over the concert in no time. For today I'm sharing swatches for The Power of Paint by Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish, which is the June contribution to the Polish Pickup Collaboration. There is a cap limit to this beauty, so if you don't want to cry like me miss out be sure to add it to your wishlist. Now let's go ahead and take a look at the swatches!

The Power of Paint by Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish will be available for purchase through the Polish Pickup Shop Friday, June 1st at 11AM EST through June 4th. The full-size 15mL shade will retail for $14 each and there is a cap of 130.

If you're not familiar with the concept, the Polish Pickup offers a fun, interactive experience that allows you to submit theme ideas, vote for your favorite theme, and selectively purchase your favorite polishes every month. As I mentioned before, the theme that was voted for June is Video Games. This month Kristen found her inspiration from the game Epic Mickey 2.

Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish - The Power of Paint

The Power of Paint can be described as a blue-purple multichrome packed with bronze-green, red-orange-gold, and blue-teal-purple UCC flakies, iridescent green micro flakies, and a smattering of holo pigment. This polish is definitely a shifting beauty and as you can see I tended to capture the teal shade of this chameleon. If you look at the listing with other blogger photos most captured the blue to purple shift nicely. This polish is so flakie filled that I'm awe-struck with how gorgeous it ends up looking. I almost feared it would be too overwhelming, but that's not the case whatsoever. All the different colored flakes give the whole finish such a complex feel. Definitely unique and a must-have, especially if this is your first time trying out this brand.

The formula has a very sheer almost jelly application that builds-up perfectly for full coverage. It has a well balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. That ended actually really surprising me considering how flake filled the finish is. Speaking of which, there are plenty of flakes per brush stroke without the need to fish. The placement works out well naturally as the coats are layered and there is no clumping or lifting. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out after topcoat. I experienced no staining on removal to either my cuticles or nail beds. Shown here in two to three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Of course I couldn't resist giving it the ol' matte touch because you know... matte all the things!! I think it looks gorgeous, especially because of all the flakie madness this finish has to offer. What do you guys think?
