Road to Polish Con Spring 2018 | Week 9 - Flirtin Cosmetics & Girly Bits Cosmetics

Hiya guys! Marking another week off on that calendar as we get closer and closer to Polish Con. I'm extremely excited and nervous, but at the same time it seems surreal. I can't wait to meet so many of you there and hopefully take photos. But I'm really shy and anxiety probe, so I'll just lurk most likely haha. If you see me, please come up to me for a hug! But I'm getting ahead of myself though because we still have 3 more weeks of polish until then! For today I'm sharing swatches for Week 9 of the Road to Polish Con series, which features Flirtin Cosmetics & Girly Bits Cosmetics. Both are new brands to my blog I believe, so I'm double-ly excited to get to share. Let's go ahead and get started!

Flirtin Cosmetics - Pixie Poison
Flirtin Cosmetics - Pixie Poison

Pixie Poison can be described as a sapphire blue polish with holographic micro blue glitters. Wowza! There is so much sparkle to this polish that my camera almost had a heart attack. You know, if cameras could do such a thing haha. You know when you see a polish in a bottle and it makes you fall in love? Yeah, that was me when I received this beauty in the mail. The sparkle is so insane in person and under direct sunlight, definitely much more than photos could capture. The blue, of course, is gorgeous and a tone that is right up my alley. It looks fantastic against any-skin tone and can be worn easily for any occasion.

The formula has a good opacity throughout the application though not enough to be a one coater. Consistency wise it leans on the think side, but was manageable enough that I didn't add thinner. However in future uses I do see myself adding some in order to have easier layering. It dries down very textured due to the nature of the finish, but it smooths out perfectly after a thick layer of topcoat. I did experience some very minor staining to my cuticles on removal, but none to my actual nail beds. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Girly Bits Cosmetics - Pocket Full of Fairies
Girly Bits Cosmetics - Pocket Full of Fairies

Pocket Full of Fairies can be described as a light pink-beige with a soft holo glow filled with silver holographic glitters and copper and purple chrome flakes. Another gorgeous polish in this series that completely blew away what I expected. It has a lot of shifting colors throughout, but like always it was hard to capture on camera. It's a really unique tone especially for me since it's not something I would normally be drawn to. The hue also looks really good against my skin-tone and doesn't bring too much warmth like I initially expected.

The formula has a good opacity throughout the application and builds-up well for full coverage. It has a well balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. As I mentioned before, there is so much color shift with this beauty that I wish I could have captured. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that is high-shine and smooths out after topcoat. I'd also like to note that removal was quite easy (worn for two days) and I didn't have any issues with the glitters being stubborn. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
