Hi guys. Whoa, what's this? A new design for Manicured and Marvelous! It has been a year since I redesigned things and I felt it was long overdue. I'm really hoping you guys like the change as much as I do. I can't wait to hear what you think! Now let's talk polish, shall we? A few weeks ago, I made my first purchase with Virtuous Polish and got the entire Women of Valor Collection that has been so widely talked about on Instagram. Generously, the makers gifted me with their limited edition Valentine's Duo and today I finally have the swatches to share with you guys.
The Valentine Duo by Virtuous Polish was limited edition and is no longer available for purchase. I'm sorry for those of you that might have missed out on these beauties. I'll be sharing my Women of Valor swatches sometime next week and those are continuously being restocked.
Everlasting
Everlasting is a duo-toned shimmer polish with blue, violet, and pink flecks. There is so much 'pop' factor to these, it's unreal! The tone shift is subtle, but in the right angle you can see the colors blend into one another like a rainbow. Formula is pretty good and evens out easily with each layer. The polish should be applied with a light hand to achieve good coverage with each layer. Swatched here is three thin coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat. Because of the combination of flecks and amount of coats applied, I used two thin layers of topcoat for a smoother finish.
Unity
Unity is a powder-pink lightly textured polish. I'll admit that I was not aware this was supposed to be a textured polish at first, haha. The formula is a little tricky, because of the thickness that normally accompanies the texture. That being said, it was not difficult to apply so long as I used a light hand and thin layers. For these swatches, I used just two thin coats. No topcoat was used in order to preserve the intended texture finish. On a final note, the one thing I'm not a fan of is the long dry time due to the thickness even when you apply lightly.
Overall I'm really surprised by how much I actually like both these polishes. Honestly, on first glance I probably would of skipped over these entirely because I'm not really a pink girl. I'm so glad I was gifted these by the makers and gave the pinkies a chance. Please keep in mind, I was not asked by the makers to review these polishes - I was gifted these with my purchase of their other collection. For the future, I'm hoping Virtuous Polish considers more textures like Unity. It's a rare treat to find such a subtle and wearable texture polish from an indie. If you haven't heard of Virtuous Polish yet, don't miss out any longer and go check them out! I'll have swatches of their Women of Valor Collection posted sometime next week.
Both colors are cute. I'm surprisingly digging the texture of unity!
ReplyDeleteLove the new layout as well!
Thank you. I'm glad you like the layout!
DeleteI love that texture finish! This is so much more interesting than regular nail polish.
ReplyDeleteYes, agreed! I'm a huge fan of texture. It's just so hard to find textured polish done subtle like this.
DeleteI wish I could feel that texture... I always want to give them a chance because they look so cool but I have concerns hehe! The bright pink is stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute colors. I'm so into pink and would gladly wear either of these but I have to say that the second color is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI have my nails done for Valentine's Day this year. I found a cool style over on Pinterest and had them recreate it at the salon!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! I especially love that they are textured and not "plain". I would skip plain pink.
ReplyDeleteThose colors are gorgeous! I love how different they look on the nails. I definitely have to get myself some of these!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to try Virtuous Polish out for awhile. Great swatches!! I love how you captured the flakies in Everlasting!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely and seriously gorgeous. The texture and finish are so unique, I don't know what to say.
ReplyDeleteI'm really digging these! That is a unique texture and it is very cool!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute nail colors for Valentine's Day. The sparkling pink of the Everlasting really pops!
ReplyDeleteLove the textured finish. Awesome color too. I would definitely give that a try. I bet the hubby would love it too.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like great polish. I love the light pink. It has a great finish.
ReplyDeleteI love the light pink!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Especially the sparkly one!
ReplyDeleteBoth the polishes look really great and girly. I'm also not a pink girl and probably those colors can't be worn to match in a corporate attire, but they are gorgeous to wear on a casual date with friends.
ReplyDeleteI’m digging the textured nail polish! I think it will look great on my nails!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous swatches, I like your new layout :)
ReplyDeleteSo lovely!!! I love that hue of pink. It's so posh! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the depth of Everlasting.
ReplyDeleteI am loving those polish shades, especially the pastel pink. Anything pink is a winner with me! :)
ReplyDeleteEven though Valentine's Day is over, I'd totally use these shades daily. I love the purple tones in the one! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness these shades are absolutely beautiful! That textured polish though is really out of this world, love it!
ReplyDeleteWow, those shades are really gorgeous. I'm not a huge fan of pink but I love the purple in it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried this line of polishes yet but I really want to! These both look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe texture on Unity is so unique! Thanks for the wonderful macro shots ♥
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty duo for V-day!
ReplyDeleteOmg I'm totally loving this nail color!!! To fab :):)

ReplyDeleteI love that pink! It's so vibrant. The sparkle is beautiful too. My style for sure!
ReplyDeletei love this color. my oldest is such a huge nail polish fan, i will have to show her this!
ReplyDeleteyou have the best polish!! I love your nail art girl!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I'm not a pink posh girl, but that first polish is really pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow, those colors are very, very pink. They're so pretty! Barbie would approve. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love them both. I've never worn a polish with texture. It's interesting and I'd like to try it.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of these polishes. That matted finished looks soo pretty and the colors are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI really love the color of the Unity polish, but I wish it wasn't textured. I like nail polishes that have a bit of sheer shine to them. A long dry time isn't for me either…I am impatient!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of these! I've never tried a textured polish before so this was interesting,
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely living these nail colors. They look great. I like colors that really pop. They stand out and look really nice.
ReplyDeleteLove the new look to your site, I need to seriously think about redoing mine also. These two colors are fabulous also, love a good pink polish!
ReplyDeleteThese look so beautiful! I love the Valentine pink and the texture is really neat. I hate textured polish myself, as I want to pick it, but I love the look on others. I wear pink more than anything else.
ReplyDeleteThose are some beautiful colors. The only problem is that I would pick it off to fast.
