Nail Hoot - Seasons Collection

Hiya guys! How's it going? I feel like I haven't shared swatches in a while, because I have been focusing on nail art. It's always tough finding a good balance between the two because I love doing both. But for today I have some long overdue swatches to share from one of the latest releases from over at Nail Hoot. This foursome is called Seasons and it's inspired by the four seasons of the year, obviously. Let's get started and see the swatches!

The Seasons Collection by Nail Hoot is now available for purchase. Each polish retails for $7.00 for a full-size bottle. There is also the option to purchase the collection as a whole: full-size set retails for $26.60 and the mini-set $18.81.

Nail Hoot - Spring's Revival

Spring's Revival can be described as a delicate pink polish filled with blue micro flakies and sparkle. Unfortunately I did feel the tone was unflattering against my skintone and therefore my least favorite of the foursome. The finish has a heavy frosty shimmer and it's super reflective. The formula and consistency were on the thin side and sheer. It does end up building up well and doesn't cause a visible nail line. Shown here is three coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Nail Hoot - Summer's Demise

Summer's Demise can be described as a orange polish that shifts pink and has a copper sparkle. It definitely has that very fiery summer to the tone and I love the chrome-y color shifts. The formula and consistency apply with ease and even out nicely with minimal effort. You do have to be mindful for visible brush strokes though they are minimal. Shown here is two coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Nail Hoot - Fall's Charisma

Fall's Charisma can be described as a gold polish is filled with blue, pink and green micro flakies, as well as fiery sparkle. Really surprised with how this one ending up looking on me and how much I liked it. The formula and consistency are pretty good and more opaque than I anticipated. I could have honestly got away with using two coats if I hadn't used such a light hand. It dries to a gritty finish so a topcoat is definitely needed to smooth down the micro-flakies. Shown here is three coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Nail Hoot - Winter's Kiss

Winter's Kiss can be described as a baby blue polish has pink and green micro flakies. Definitely my favorite in this collection, but I again feel the shimmer is a bit overpowering. Still it gives the polish a really nice winter scene tone. The formula for this one is on the thinner side and has a sheer consistency. Three coats was definitely needed in order not to have a visible nail line. Shown here is three coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Overall I wasn't as excited about the Seasons Collection by Nail Hoot as I wanted to be. Don't get me wrong. The concept behind the collection is fantastic and the color representation is spot on for each season. However the frosty shimmer finishes didn't compliment my skin-tone as much as I would of liked. The polishes themselves do have a fairly great application though, just not my personal preference. I'm hoping that 2016 will bring something new from Nail Hoot like cremes or glitter crellys. But tell me, what do you guys think of this collection? And what would you like to see from Brandie over at Nail Hoot?
