Hiya guys! I don't know about you, but the superhero craze has got me so hyped. Not only the movies, but I'm completely hooked on the television shows. Especially The Flash on the CW network, which has the cutie Grant Gustin as the lead *swoon*. Tonight is the season two finale for The Flash so I had to make sure my nails were up to speed... get it... cause it's The Flash.... and he's a 'speedster'... I'll stop now and just show you the mani, sound good? Haha.
These colors are giving me such energy! I think the overlayer of the black brings out the colors that much more and makes it have this superhero level brightness.
Originally I wanted to do white stamping instead of the black, but it just wasn't working. No matter what white stamping polish I tried or what stamper I used the image would not pick up. I'm sure you guys can imagine my frustration trying to figure this out for almost a hour straight. I don't understand why it wouldn't pick up the image, but in the end I guess things worked out for the best because I love how it turned out.
As always guys, here's a break down of everything I used to create this look:
- Polishes: Zoya Rocha (*), Painted Polish Midnight Mischief, and OPI My Twin Mimmy
- Stamping Plate: Uber Chic Collection 9-02
- Liquid Latex from So Much Goodness Purple Nurple (*)
- Top Coat: Matte from B Polished
And there is a video tutorial (with voice over) to accompany this nail design!
This is my first nail tutorial in about three weeks (since I started going my Iron IV treatments) and it was something I missed doing SO much. I totally sound a little doofy, but I was nervous while talking because it had been awhile haha.
Anyway, the key to this mani definitely lays in the gradient. Not only do the colors have to 'pop', but you have to make sure you get that overlapped third color in. Good thing about the stamping is you don't need to worry about placement (in case you don't own a clear stamper) with the way the image is designed. Alternatively you could use the other lighting bolt image on the plate and achieve the same end result by painting your nails black and stamping the gradient bolts. This concept though might work best if you opt with a white base instead of a black. I'm not going to lie I kind of wish I would have thought of this before, haha.
I hope you guys like this design as much as I do. If any of you are fans of The Flash like me be sure to let me know down in the comments. I'm determined to find some fellow nail addicts that love this show as much as I do, haha. Hmmm... maybe an indie maker could make an inspired collection... Just take my wallet now because I definitely would need it! Someone needs to get on this idea for me XD
Thanks so much for reading
It sucks that the white didn't work but the nails look AMAZING!!! I have no idea how you can make such gorgeous and creative nail art, but this is stunning. And I don't even like the flash but these would make me reconsider :P
