Hopefully I can enable you into making some purchases too. For today I'll be sharing swatches for the Holy Shift Box, the brainchild of fabulous blogger Melissa from My Lacquer Cabinet. The Holy Shift Box is an all thermal polish set featuring four amazing makers hand-picked by Melissa: Fiendish Fancies, Fair Maiden Polish, Joy Lacquer, and Supernatural Lacquer. With lots of thermals, comes lots of photos so let's go ahead and get started!

Up Shift Creek can be described as a warm rich plummy purple when cool, shifting to a striking magenta pink when warm. Enhanced with blue sparkle and copper shimmer. Starting right away with my favorite shade from this box! I love a visibly dramatic transition and this one definitely accomplishes that. For the transition macro I was seriously in awe of the almost gradient effect.
The formula has a nice smooth application with a great build-up. Great consistency as well, not too thick or too thin. This was my first time trying this indie and it left me very impressed. Shown in two coats plus a glossy topcoat.
This Shift is Bananas! can be described as a deep teal green that transitions to bright blue when warm. It has royal purple/lavender and pink shifty shimmers that complement both warm and cool states. This one is definitely the most subtle thermal in the box. But I have to say it's a really eye-catching tone of blue when it's warm. That alone had me hook, line, and sinker!
The formula has a sheer application with a bit of a thin consistency. It has a good build-up and easily layers for full coverage. Shown in three coats plus a glossy topcoat.
Shift for Brains can be described as a black when cool, light grey when warm, thermal with bronze/red shimmer and multi-colored flakies. Even though I do love the colors this polish transitions between, I feel like neither spectrum looks as described. Personally I feel it sits at a cool dark chocolate brown and a warm nude beige instead. And honestly... I like it better this way as opposed to a grey/black combo.
The formula has an opaque application with a great consistency. Each brush stroke has ample flakies for an even distribution on the nail. It dries to a very minimal gritty finish, but can be smoothed down easily with topcoat. Shown in two coats plus a glossy topcoat.
Overall I'm beyond ecstatic that this box even exists! Thermals are known for having a shelf life for their transitions and therefore get overlooked. But finally there is a slice of heaven for us who enjoy them regardless! Everything about this box is love: from the shades to the hilarious punny names. Fair Maiden Polish – Shift Just Got Real

Shift Just Got Real can be described as a blue leaning purple that shifts to a peachy nude when warm. The polish is loaded with violet red to orange chrome shimmer and rose gold crystal flakies and finished with a touch of linear holo. Is it me or does this polish just scream regal?! There is just something about the color combination and depth that the flakies add that brings it over the top for me.
The formula has a smooth and opaque application. Not quite a one coater, but definitely doesn't need much layering at all. The finish dries to a minimally gritty finish that smooths down after topcoat. Shown in two coats plus a glossy topcoat.

Joy Lacquer – This Shift is Bananas!
