Hiya guys! Before I say anything else, no I did not change my nail shape back to squares. Unfortunately. I will never be over how much I love the square shape, but it's entirely too much maintenance for me to maintain. The amount of distress over caring for them was insane and something I definitely don't miss haha. But looking through my archive of nail swatches I never got around to post I found this gem. Believe it or not I never posted these swatches because I thought they weren't good enough. Crazy, right? It's funny how time gives your a sense of perspective. Anyway today I'm sharing swatches for the gorgeous Cryogenic Refrigerant by Vapid Lacquer, which has got to be my favorite polish of all time. You know those rare polishes in your collection that you love so much that you end up getting a backup bottle to your backup bottle?! Yeah, that's this one for me. I feel like I have to stop myself from gushing about it, let's so ahead and jump right to the swatches.
Cryogenic Refrigerant by Vapid Lacquer is not available for purchase at this time. Each full-size bottle 15mL retailed for $13. Unfortunately Vapid Lacquer has announced it will be closing its virtual doors in the Fall. There is a restock pre-order happening this month on July 26th at 8PM central time. I'm unsure if this shade will be included in the restock this month, but if it's not I believe there will be another before the shop closes. Follow the Facebook group Vapicorns to keep up-to-date.
Cryogenic Refrigerant can be described as silver linear holographic. And please tell me I am not the only one absolutely drooling over the holo goodness. Now you can see why this is one of my most favorite polishes in existence. The holographic flame is the strongest I have ever seen and worn. I'm really glad I was able to swatch these with my longer square nails to show off more of the finish. And I know I end up saying it all the time, but truly my photos don't do it justice. My photos are taken indoors under a light-box situation, so just imagine how much more it comes to life under direct sunlight. Any time I have to go out and need something quick to put on my nails this is my go-to shade. Hence why I have a back-up bottle to my back-up bottle, haha. Not only is it gorgeous to look at, but it has the formula to back it up as well.
The formula has such a smooth and opaque application that it could be a one coater. As with most polishes, I definitely recommend the second coat to give the finish much more spark and shine. Though any more shine and this one might actually blind someone. It has a great balanced consistency throughout the application, not too thick or too thin. It dries down to a smooth high shine finish on its own. Also it dries very quickly within just a handful of minutes, which is another reason I tend to reach for this shade in a pinch. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
