Hiya guys, how's it going? I actually realized today that I don't exactly have the entire week off from work, because I have to go in Friday for a half day. Talk about lame. Oh well, at least I have two days to still enjoy myself and possibly do some more Spring cleaning. And, of course, make more of a dent in my swatch pile. For today I have swatches for the upcoming Spring release from CDB Lacquer, let's take a look.
The Spring Trio by CDB Lacquer will be available for purchase this Friday, April 10th at noon EST. The trio will only be available in full size and each one is sold individually.
Butterfly Kisses is a lavender crelly with sky blue and yellow glitters in numerous sizes. Usually when I think of lavender I tend to imagine a more pastel shade for some reason. But I'm so happy this crelly is bright and filled with equally bold glitter colors. Definitely a keeper through spring and into the summer weather. The formula applies evenly throughout and without any excessive glitter buildup. For these swatches, I used two thin coats and sealed with Seche Vite Topcoat.
Flowers Bloom is a white crelly with pink, purple, gray and yellow glitters in numerous sizes. My favorite among the trio, this white crelly is downright gorgeous. The glitter combination is vibrant and feels as flowery as it's intended to be. The formula and consistency are great and gave me no issues when layering. The first coat is sheer so it takes a few layers for an opaque finish. For these swatches, I used three thin coats and sealed with Seche Vite Topcoat.
Spring Garden is a pink crelly with purple, neon green and pink glitters in numerous sizes. While I'm not a fan of straight pink colors, there is something about this unique shade I cannot get enough of. I think it's the way it leans a little towards purple without committing, I love it. I was very impressed by how opaque this was in a single coat, it almost gave full coverage. Best formula and consistency of the trio and I experienced no issues applying. My only complaint if I had to give one is that the pink glitter meshes a little too much with the base. I wish they would of either been a little light or darker. For these swatches, I used two thin coats and sealed with Seche Vite Topcoat.
Overall I think this trio really nails the essence of Spring perfectly whilst also bringing some originality. My personal pick has got to be the white crelly Flowers Bloom, the bright glitters meshed with the white base is very eye-catching. I only wish it would of been a larger collection instead of a trio, because the formulas are great all around and I would of loved to see more color combinations. Again, the Spring Trio by CDB Lacquer will be available for purchase this Friday, April 10th at noon EST.
What did you think of the trio? Which one is your favorite?
