Signet Nails - Spring 2015 Swatches

Hiya guys. It's finally time for the weekend and for some fun. I'm more than a little ready to relax some more and not think about work. So let's get right to it and dive right into some fun and polish! I have two polishes I'd like to show you today and these are from the Spring 2015 release from Signet Nails. Let's check them out.

Signet Nails - Spring 2015 Swatches

Both polishes from Signet Nails Spring release are already available for purchase. These are sold individually and only in full sizes for $8.50 each.

Lapis Lazuli
Signet Nails - Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli is a bright blue jelly polish filled with glitters and flakies. I cannot get over how strikingly beautiful the color is and how well it compliments my skin tone. The combination with the glitter and flakies give it a really unique feel and vibe. The formula and consistency were great, not too thick or too thin. I had no issues with the removal either as it did not stain my nails whatsoever. Swatched here is two thin coats and sealed in with Signet Nails own Gloss Topcoat.

Sunshine Strawberry
Signet Nails - Sunshine Strawberry

Sunshine Strawberry is a light pink crelly with assorted glitters, flushes to dark pink in sunlight/outdoors. Unfortunately, I had some cloudy days this week in Jersey and the minimal sun was not enough to ignite a color change. I did see other swatchers not have an issue with the color shift, so I do believe it will work but you'll have to have strong enough sunlight outside. Besides the solar changes, the formula is great for such a heavy glitter polish. I was expecting it to be thick or give me issues with glitter fishing, but there was none of either of those things. The nice consistency allowed for the layering to be effortless. The only downside is that each layer is very sheer and so it will require at least three coats for an opaque finish. For these swatches, I used three thin coats and sealed in with two layers of Seche Vite top coat.

I was also sent their gloss topcoat for reviewing purposes, so I'll mention a few things I discovered while using it for a brief time. The topcoat is only offered as a variation to the matte graphite top coat, Dolph. It's currently not listed as a standalone item because it's merely meant as a quick solution to your top coat needs. Although it is shiny, I don't find the topcoat to give much of a lasting gloss. It's a thin formula as well which will not work well with glitter polishes. I did manage in my week of use to top off some nail art with it, for the most part it worked decently, However, there were some times it smeared my art. While I cannot recommend the top coat as a great item you'll need to have, I will say it will get you by in a pinch if you don't have an alternative to use.

Overall I'm really satisfied with my first experience with Signet Nails. Both of the shades here felt very unique and unlike anything in my collection, which says a whole lot since I own over a thousand polishes at this point. It's a shame about Sunshine Strawberry not wanting to work in the sunlight for me, but even knowing that I still love it because of that smooth formula. If you're in the market for trying something a little different, then check out Signet Nails. All polishes outside of their Spring collection have been marked down to only $5.00, it's a great time to grab something new. So tell me guys, which one of these did you like best?

  1. So pretty in pink. It looks like one I would love to give a try. My Grandkids would like the darker one.

  9. Beautiful swatches! Lapis Lazuli is sooooo stunning, and the pink crelly glitter is great too. I haven't tried any of the solar changing polishes yet, but I also live in a generally cloudy place so it probably wouldn't work well for me either!

  10. I love both of these shades! The blue seems to be glowing a bit, and the colors in the glitter are just adorable.

  11. That blue brings back some memories. My first real boyfriend in Jr. High had a thing for the color blue. I remember me and my friends went to the drugstore to get a birthday present for him (in those days, you could walk down the street into town without fear lol) and I ended up with this glittery blue nail polish because I really wanted to impress him. While that relationship didn't work (hahah) we remained friends for many, many years.

  17. That looks like strawberry shortcake, my favorite dessert. I love the pink stone, glittery effect! That looks like a smooth coat it gives instead of being chunky. Love it!

  28. Lapis Lazuli is a gorgeous shade but something about the combo of glitters in it just doesn't quite do it for me. Great swatches though!
