Freehand Nail Art Challenge: Complementary Colors

Hiya guys! Another day, another week for nail art. I've been trying to participate in more challenges lately both on Facebook and Instagram. It's definitely tough trying to take part in more than one but at the same time it's a lot of fun. The Disney Heroes vs Villains Challenge I've been a part of the last few weeks is a great example. Today I have a new challenge I decided to take part in for the Facebook group Freehand Nail Art. There are only three challenge days in the month, which makes this totally manageable between my other posts. The first prompt is 'Complementary Colors' and this was the mani I came up with:

I've wanted to do a freehand line mani like this for a very long time but never felt comfortable in my lining abilities. Solid strong lines are not my strong suit by a long shot. I do like how I managed to pull this off though. I was inspired by the lovely and talented Instagram @nailstorming. If you aren't following her already then get to it because she has some amazing video tutorials and posts.

For the accent nail I decided to use Zapped by Salon Perfect, which I've had in my stash for the longest time but never used. It's actually a texture polish but I did topcoat it to reduce the effect. All the other colors are acrylic paint.

I really hope you guys like the mani. Check out some of the other girls participating in today's challenge:

  1. These are awesome! And that polish is adorable, it's crazy the things we buy and then forget to use!!

  2. You did an awesome job on those lines! I really love the colors you choose, too. I need to try a design with negative space.
