Hiya guys! I cannot believe we are only about a week away from October. I feel like I always say this, but this year is just flying by at warp-speed. I'm just hoping it slows down a bit so I can enjoy next month to the fullest. Yes, I'm a total and complete Halloween nut. And it's hands down my favorite time of year to pick up polishes. Starting the Halloween vibe early, today I'm sharing this years Halloween LE shade from Nail Hoot Lacquer called Haunted Mansion. Haunted Mansion by Nail Hoot Lacquer will be releasing on Friday, September 22nd at 7PM CT. Each full-size 15mL retails for $7.35 and not available in mini-size.
Nail Hoot - Haunted Mansion
Haunted Mansion can be described as a purple to black duochrome crelly with orange and blue glitters and a pinch of scattered holo. I not only adore the color combination, but this shade looks amazing against my skin complexion. It doesn't highlight my warm undertones, which is such a huge plus for me. And although it's meant as a Halloween polish, I feel like this is one of those shades that can never go wrong year round. Plus it has so much sparkle, much more than my camera could capture without spazzing out haha.
The formula has a sheer application that builds-up evenly for full coverage. The consistency is well balanced, not too thick or too thin. It's very glitter loaded with each brush stroke, so it dries down to a gritty finish. Smooths out after topcoat and there are some bare minimal brush strokes visible in the finish. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
Nail Hoot - Matte Talons Top Coat
I also received Matte Talons, which is Nail Hoot's matte topcoat. I decided to give it a try on this shade and absolutely loved how different it made the polish look. The topcoat itself had a nice formula and consistency to work with. The matte effect works very quickly as well, it was fully matte in less than two minutes.
Overall this is another gorgeous Halloween shade from Brandie. I love the fact that she releases just one LE a year, makes it that much special to me. I didn't think this shade would top last years Hocus Pocus, but it definitely did in my book! What can I say, I'm a total sucker when it comes to purples haha. I also definitely recommend picking up the matte topcoat if you're in the market for a new one. Not only does it work really well, but the price is very affordable.
