Hiya guys! I've had a lot of health issues in the past, most notably in the last two years. And I'm honestly still struggling, but the one thing I can say is that I'm staying on top of things. As you may know, next month is Breast Cancer Awareness. I had a recent scare with my mother and it prompted me to get checked out for the first time. Was it fun? No. Was it uncomfortable? Yes. But it's something that needs to be done, not just for me but for you as well. Breast cancer is one of the top leading causes of death for women, but with early detection the chances of beating it skyrockets. I'm definitely very passionate as you can probably tell, which is why I'm so thrilled to have been chosen as a guest swatcher for this special collaboration. Today I'm sharing swatches for the October Monthly Awareness Polish Box, which this month is supporting You Can Thrive by donating 10% of all sales. Night Owl Lacquer - Save The Hooters
Save The Hooters can be described as a bright hot pink with iridescent shimmer and holo flakies. Starting off with one of my favorite shades in this box! It's not only vibrant and fun, but the flakies add such a cute pop factor. I love the color against my skin-tone as well. I don't do pink very often, but when I do I love just like this. Loud and spunky!
The formula has a very opaque and smooth application, almost enough to be a one coater. Consistency wise it feels very much balanced, not too thick or too thin. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
Sassy Pants Polish - Save the Ta-Tahs
The formula has a sheer, but smooth application that builds-up for full coverage. It has a thin consistency, but it's very easy to manage and work with. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
Pretty Beautiful Unlimited - Save 2nd Base
The formula has a good opacity, but not quite enough to be a one coater. It has a nice even build-up with plenty of glitters and flakies throughout each brush stroke. Consistency wise it was balanced and not too thick or too thin. I didn't experience any staining to my nail bed or cuticles on removal. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish, but smooths out after topcoat. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe - I Love Boobies
The formula has a sheer application, but builds-up really well. Nice balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. Very easy to work with and layer for full coverage. It dries down to a nice smooth finish. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
All Mixed Up Lacquers - Fight Strong
The formula has a sheer jelly-like application that builds-up really nicely for full coverage. It has a nice balanced consistency, which makes layering a breeze. Plenty of glitters and flakies per brush stroke with great distribution across the nail. It dries down to a gritty finish, but smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
Katheen & Co - Angel Wings
The formula has a very sheer application, but it does build for full coverage. I do feel like this shade could be used as a topper over a cream base as well. Consistency wise it's very balanced, not too thick or too thin. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish, but smooths out after topcoat. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
Overall this is a beautiful box with a punch of gorgeous polish for a wonderful cause. I love the creativity behind all the shades and especially enjoyed the fact that all the makers didn't stick with just pink. There's also a lot of diversity in the finishes, which I thoroughly enjoyed as well. Whether you're a fan of pink or not, this collaboration surely has something for everyone to fall in love with. Plus it's polish for a wonderful cause! And please get yourself checked, early detection can mean the difference between life and death.
