Winter Seasonal Indie Box

Hiya guys! Me posting on the weekend??? Whaaaaa.... No, you're not in the Twilight Zone or something, haha. I actually posted everyday this week and I just avoid double posting if I can. I don't want to overwhelm you and with this being Polish Pickup week it's hard not to be. But I hope your wallets haven't completely met with the grim reaper because there is a collaboration box with your name on it. Today I'm sharing swatches for the Winter Seasonal Indie Box, which features Turtle Tootsie Polishes, Anchor & HeartColores de Carol and guest maker Supermoon Lacquer. Insert all the pelvic thrusting that is sociable acceptable here, haha. Let's go ahead and get right into the swatches!

Winter Seasonal Indie Box

The Winter Seasonal Indie Box will be available for presale January 7th at noon EST through January 14th at 8pm EST at www.turtletootsiepolishes.com. Each box will contain four full-size polishes and will retail for $40 plus shipping.  The box is limited to 65 boxes and once it's sold out it will not be restocked.

Colores de Carol - Celestial River
Colores de Carol - Celestial River

Celestial River can be described as a platinum silver linear holographic with unicorn shimmer that shift from pink to purple, micro holo glitter and UCC flakes. Starting off my review with one of my favorite in the box! Photos don't do this gorgeous shade any justice, if it looks like it's full of holo sparkle it's because it truly is. Best of all it looks really pleasing against my skin-tone, which is something I find difficult to pull off in such reflective holo shades.

The formula has a great opaque application, much more than I expected it to have. It's not quite a one coater, but still very impressive. Consistency wise it's very well balanced, not too thick or too thin. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes - Stellar
Turtle Tootsie Polishes - Stellar

Stellar can be described as a creamy purple with gold and silver shimmer, gold flakies, electric blue flakies, and rainbow fantasy flakies. Purples are always a hard shade to capture in photos accurately and I do feel this one leans a little less blue in person. So much shimmer, it completely covers the base nice and even. Plus it really adds a nice eye-catching factor to the shade.

The formula has a sheer application that builds-up nicely for full coverage. The flakies are on the scarce side, which is nice so that it doesn't overwhelm the shimmer base. Consistency wise it's well balanced and easy to work with. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out after topcoat. Shown here in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Anchor & Heart - Northern Sky
Anchor & Heart - Northern Sky

Northern Sky can be described as a pale silvery purple with slight metallic finish, and features a red to purple glow, multi-colored micro iridescent glitter, holographic micro pigment, and several different types of shifting multichrome flakies. Unfortunately this shade was my least favorite from the foursome. I felt like the color didn't quite suit my skin-tone and the finish felt a little overwhelming. That being said, the color combination and finish are really unique and does nail the winter vibe.

The formula has a sheer application that builds-up evenly for a full coverage finish. The consistency is nicely balanced and not too thick or too thin. Which was a very nice element considering how packed with flakies the finish is. It also has fantastic distribution of glitters and flakies, none seem to clump during the application. It dries has a minimal gritty finish and brush strokes, both of which smooth out after topcoat. Shown here in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Orion's Sword
Supermoon Lacquer - Orion's Sword

Orion's Sword can be described as a dark blue with turquoise-to-purple and blue-to-copper color changing shimmer that makers it shift from blue to purple to green, with blue and silver sparks, silver holographic micro-glitter, and silver holographic micro flakies. And here I find myself closing out the review with another favorite of mine from this box. It's no secret on this blog that I am head over heels for anything in the blue range, but this one just takes that and multiplies it by a thousand. The color itself is gorgeous, let's just get that out of the way. But the added shimmer plus glitter give it such depth and complexity. It's stunning to say the least.

The formula has a creamy and opaque application that is almost a one coater. Very smooth throughout and a dream to work with. The consistency, like all the others here, is perfectly balanced. If nothing else all of these ladies have mastered their formulas. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out after topcoat. I experienced no staining on removal to either my nail beds or cuticles. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Overall the makers did a fantastic job at bringing us a nice range of colors and finishes. A little something for everyone to enjoy and be drawn to. Plus I think the concept with the seasons is really a cute idea and winter was perfectly executed. Mardi and Supermoon Lacquer were a perfect fit for the season and gives the box the ideal blue shade for winter. Colores de Carol also absolutely killed it with her contribution and it's a must-have without a doubt.

To recap, Winter Seasonal Indie Box will be available for presale January 7th at noon EST through January 14th at 8pm EST at www.turtletootsiepolishes.com.
